BREAKING: Supreme Court overturns 1984 Chevron case that gave federal agencies (such as the SEC) the broad ability to craft regulations pursuant to laws passed by Congress. It appears that someone finally read the chapter in their middle school history book about governmental checks and balances. #Chevron #SEC #SupremeCourt https://lnkd.in/gAvxhNbA

Hannah Cox does an OUTSTANDING job of discussing the ramifications of the overturning of the Chevron deference by the SCOTUS last week. This will literally affect every one of our businesses, most in a positive way, but it’s probably going to be a new headwind for some industries, like environmental-related companies. This is probably the most significant decision in decades. #CurbingTheFourthBranchOfGovernment #RegulatoryOverreach #RestoringParityToTheThreeBranchesOfGovernment #MakingCongessDoItsJobAgain #LimitingExecutiveBranchPowers
Chevron Doctrine goes down and the Constitution is back! This Supreme Court is honestly kind of iconic.

the Chevron act has been struck down... this is A VERY SIMILAR law the gov created in #canada to ENPOWER UNELECTED GOV EMPLOYEES TO ENACT LAWS, WITHOUT GOING THRU THE NORMAL JUDICIAL PROCESSES. Basically allowing them to make up there own laws,.and that WHEN there is ambiguity in their law,.these unelected people get to OVERRIDE EXISTING RULINGS AND LAW. this resulted,.over the past 4 years there's been unprecedented "laws" created that are in direct conflict of our constitution (censorship, right to peacefully protest, restriction of movement, right to privacy to nane a few). watch this take note: #canada #USA #corruption #liberallies #liberalpartyofcanada #trudeaumustgo #selloutsingh #votecpc #poilievre4pm

The Chevron Doctrine has long been a cornerstone in modern regulation creation and administrative law, providing deference to Federal agencies as experts in cases of Congressional law ambiguity. Today's Supreme Court ruling curtailing federal agencies' power may have a significant impact on regulatory trends within the industry. This decision could lead to heightened scrutiny of law interpretations and potentially hinder the timely passage of regulations. Professionals should make themselves knowledgeable about the possible impact this decision will have on many industries. This article goes into a bit more detail concerning said impacts --> https://lnkd.in/e98d2s2d
The #SupremeCourt has just overturned the #ChevronDeference. ✔ The Chevron Deference refers to the doctrine of judicial deference given to administrative actions. (Regulatory agencies) ✔ Typically, when a law is vague, judges would apply statutory interpretation. 🚩 But in Chevron, the US Supreme Court set forth a legal test as to when the court should defer to the agency’s answer or interpretation, holding that such judicial deference is appropriate where the agency’s answer was not unreasonable, so long as Congress had not spoken directly to the precise issue at question. ✔ This decision has curtailed Federal Agencies' broad regulatory power. #AdministrativeLaw #USSC #Law #Doctrine https://lnkd.in/dBmAGEMW.

Not sure what the controversy is here. I have been on the ugly side of “agency deference” numerous times in my legal practice. No one, I mean no one, should be required to follow the interpretation of unaccountable, narrowly-focused (in terms of expertise), unelected agency bureaucrats. Technocrats should never dictate broadly applicable federal policy.... Our U.S. judiciary is honorable, and made up of hard working legal minds who are empowered to interpret the laws of Congress; they are empowered to hear evidence from all sides, and to make a decision based on applying the statutory language to the full range of facts at hand. This is what courts have been set up to do...it is what they are there for, even if they move slowly. Expediency for the sake of expediency while relying on an unaccountable technocrat seems anti-American, anti-democratic, and anti-common sense. Don't let political messaging persuade you otherwise. This is a great decision for Americans, the private sector, and for the cannabis industry, especially. #Chevron
