So what you are saying is that in every real world / business situation you have 7 seconds to “pitch” therefore it is not required to learn how to discuss multiple aspects of a problem (that might not be black or white/good or bad/ but something with pros and cons for each solution)? I am of the opinion that whoever has learned to write 5+ pages in such a scenario will be able to condense it to a “pitch” of 7 seconds. But I doubt the TikTok generation with an attention span of 10 seconds is able to write more than a 1 pager ignoring important aspects of an issue that should be discussed. And who needs to prepare for writing an essay, thesis or dissertation when they are adults? Right, it will all be done by AI - the solution to everything.

Haha. No there is no contradiction here. The shortest version of explanation is "it's good, do it". It will not convince Elon Musk or anyone. It is harder to pack an exhaustive expression of your idea into 7 seconds than into couple pages unless the idea is trivial and not interesting at all So yes. In high school you learn to express yourself convincingly. After that you learn to summarize and pass the elevator test
It is way easier on "to add than subtract" (words, features ...) This is the principle behind the "last bolt" in design theory ... "Keep removing bolts until the structure collapses, then replace the last bolt." That is the pure design ... everything else is noise.
