94-year-old Clint Eastwood is 'telling'… “Do not look for luxury in watches or bracelets, do not look for luxury in forks or sails. “Luxury is laughter and friends, luxury is rain on your face, luxury is hugs and kisses. Don't look for luxury in shops, don't look for it in gifts, don't look for it at parties, don't look for it at events. Luxury is being loved by people, luxury is being respected, luxury is having parents alive, luxury is being able to play with your grandchildren, luxury is what money can't buy Source : unknown Image : Martin Schoeller

At every stage of our lives we look for happiness, and depending on our age we look for it in materialistic things. As you read this, take a look around you and see how many things you own that you don't actually need but that make you happy at the moment. As you get older you realize that owning things becomes less and less important, but that your greatest asset is that you have the people you love around you, that you are healthy and that you can spend your time with children and grandchildren, and that is not for sale! This man has made a lot of money and lived well on it, something anyone else in his position would have done. He now shares the wise lessons he has learned, see the beauty in this and realize that the most important thing in the world cannot be bought with money...

This is social media today: -- Using a PHOTO with no credit to the photographer (on top of it a well-known photographer) -- attributing a quote to a celebrity who didn't say those words -- and 40+k people like it, 1.5k are commenting and 2k are reposting it -- REALLY?!!? And LinkedIn goes with it. And all the people here are just following the crowd and just discuss the words/message even if the author of the words is wrong and the author of the image is not mentioned Congratulations !

So continues the trend of attributing trite monologues to random people who pretend for living. Clint Eastwood didn’t say this. It’s a fake quote attributed to a celebrity because celebrity endorsements trick people into thinking things have more value than they actually do. Works in advertising too.

...and that is precisely the role of the often-maligned elderly in our society (CE is 94 years old). To share with us what they have realized on their life's journey (not just what they have read). Life is learning.

I couldn't agree more, but we live in a consumer-based society where a major portion of the population lives with major debt and little or nothing in the bank to fall back on. Instead of saving for our nonessential luxurious dreams, we buy them on credit while the banks reap over 18% interest on the unpaid balance, which few ever get out from under. Unforeseen problems and medical situations spell bankruptcy for most in these positions. Meanwhile, like a hypocrite father, our government sets the abysmal example for its citizens by spending and giving away Trillions of dollars it doesn't have and borrowing it from an enemy who makes most of our consumer goods, steals our technology and undermines our security, while our infrastructure crumbles. We are all business people, here. What business could ever survive that is managed so horribly?

Clint is worth $375 million. So while I agree with his point, he is not the person who should be making it.

out of the mouth of a very rich guy, this makes no sense at all. its like if a fisherman says its not about catching fish. its about the sun setting above the sea. yeah yeah fisherman. we got it. you caught all of our fish. and now you tellin us to love our life while starving.

Clint Eastwood wore a 'Root Beer' Rolex GMT in Dirty Harry. A policeman of this level wouldn't have worn a Rolex at the time or it would have been very unlikely. The specific Rolex is sometimes called an Eastwood. Clint gifted the watch to Bradley Cooper. Therefore Clint does dabble in luxury.....
