Can anyone connect me with someone who runs an educational charity or nonprofit that is not actually a school, that is successfully set up as an eligible body, so that it does not need to charge VAT on its sales of education? Growing pains at www.p4he.org mean that we need to look at converting to non-profit status or we will have to start charging parents VAT for our online courses and residentials, which will really hit affordability.
The organisation would be a perfectly legitimate non-profit as we do great work with underserved children who are home-educated, gifted, neurodiverse and sometimes all three, and everyone involved goes beyond what we're reasonably paid to do. However, from experience as a trustee at another organisation, the precise wording of the documents establishing the organisation are more important to the VAT man than the reality of the work you're doing. I'll take legal advice as well, and hope to find out exactly what Labour are doing to make sure we wouldn't be collateral damage in the move against private schools, but would be great to speak to someone who has got it right.
Strengthen the body, strengthen the mind.
Strengthen the mind, strengthen resilience,
Strengthen resilience, strengthen perseverance,
Strengthen perseverance, strengthen self-worth,
Strengthen self-worth, strengthen mindset,
Strengthen mindset, strengthen success,
Strengthen success - you have changed a life.
Our mission at Amoyo Performing Arts Foundation goes beyond the performing arts. We believe in a holistic approach to development that begins with the body and spirals into a life-transforming journey. Each step in our program builds towards the next, creating a foundation not just for success, but for a life changed.
However, we can't do this alone. We need your support to keep our full after-school programs running. By sponsoring just one class a month for R350, you help us provide the continuity and care that our students depend on to thrive.
Imagine the impact you can have: ONE CHILD AT A TIME. Join us in our mission to strengthen the youth's futures in Hout Bay.
Please take a moment to make a difference. Sponsor a class today. 🌟

It’s the end of year and time to give! I need at least 50 business or giving people to consider donating $1,000 or more each to help build a school for my Maa Eagles girls!
These girls come from villages where they are traditionally married off at very young ages for cattle and goat. As primary agricultural workers and water gatherers they endure some of the harshest impacts of climate change, causing them to walk further for water sources which puts them at risk for heat related illnesses and predatory violence.
Maa Eagles sends these girls to school to become educated and reposition their futures. Right now we have 30 girls in primary school and 30 in secondary school. We graduated 12 girls from college last year.
The girls are in private schools, which is very expensive. We’d like to build a school to allow more girls to attend, be closer to their families and villages, and give them a tailored experience that allows for optimal learning.
We need help. Please consider giving. It’s tax deductible!
