Scottie Scheffler is really good at golfing. And as he wakes up to see another green jacket hanging in his closet, Caitlin Clark wakes up for the last time not being the #1 pick in the WNBA draft. And we have all woken up to the opportunity to recognize a Nice Guy or Gal. Every Friday, I’ll share nominations for people who have been identified as nice guys (and gals). If you want to nominate someone, just shoot me a private message by 5:00 EST on Thursday. There are only 3 requirements: 1) you have to be connected to the person you nominate 2) you can only nominate one person per week 3) you can’t nominate yourself 😀 If you want to provide a brief reason for your selection, that’s great, but it’s not a requirement. Let’s recognize people who make a difference simply by being nice. Have a great day, everyone. https://lnkd.in/e8JX9YcC #network #sportsbiz #people #niceguy #networking #sportsmarketing

🏆Congrats to Jacki Mayer for being a "Force for Good" Champion. Lance Miller recently sat down with Jacki to ask a few questions. 1️⃣ HOW IS JACKI CONNECTED WITH CHAMPIONS? Jacki has been a part of the Beavercreek Chamber of Commerce Champions group since its inception in 2022. She has firmly believed in the Force for Good mission and even hosted an off-site event for our Champions. 2️⃣ WHAT DOES JACKI SAY ABOUT CHAMPIONS? "It's a really great way to start the day...They (the Champions group) are good people, and that fuels me... It's an opportunity to find your "tribe" or expand it. 3️⃣ WHAT'S JACKI'S DAY JOB? She is the Executive Director of the Beaver Creek Wetlands Association. For her personally, she wants to make sure the organization has a really strong foundation that they can build on. And she loves it because it is mission-based, which "fuels her soul"! (Spoken like a true Champion) 4️⃣ JACKI, WHAT DO YOU WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW ABOUT YOU? "I'm a big dreamer. One of my strengths is I can see the vision and I'm not afraid to dream big. And I'll also laugh at just about anything! Entertainment value is very important to me!" 5️⃣ HOW CAN PEOPLE GET A HOLD OF JACKI? jmayer@beavercreekwetlands.org 🙏Thanks, JACKI, for being a FORCE FOR GOOD!🚀 #forceforgood #coffeewithchampions #personalgrowth #leadershiptraining

One of the many amazing things about Athletic Brewing Co. and representing them in the UK is that we have a 'Practice What You Preach' attitude towards the world around us and giving back to communities and greatly impacting our environments for the better. Our mission is to positively impact peoples lives and by supporting and stocking Athletic beers, you are joining us on that journey. Its more than a drink. I frequently get asked 'But is it just in the USA?' and the answer to that question is NO! ITS WORLDWIDE. If you want to find out more, watch the video below and drop me an email to adam.findlay@athleticbrewing.com to start the conversation. Can leaders just have IT? IT, defined as that intangible quality when you meet someone and immediately want to be a part of their team, to be inspired by them, learn from them, and be led by them. There is, of course, a delicate balance in this. History has taught us that humanity has often followed seducers who have led their followers astray, metaphorically speaking. But returning to the present, where we then and again encounter leaders who possess IT. I spent 30 years of my life in a dressing room. While not many footballers have won Nobel Prizes, we had a remarkable ability to discern leaders who lacked IT. Coaches who attempted to conceal their weaknesses through excessive theory, anger, arrogance, or digital tools intended to impress the players. So, yes, I have encountered some who did NOT have IT! Then there was our National Coach Egil Olsen, "Drillo," who undeniably had it. Primarily due to his knowledge and ideas, but also his ability to instill in us the feeling of taking on the whole world. The reason I began writing this on Good Friday, however, was the news that Xabi Alonso has decided to remain at Bayer 04 Leverkusen Alonso is on the verge of securing the Bundesliga - title after FC Bayern München winning 11 in a row. And mark my words: Alonso unquestionably possesses IT. Both as a player and as a leader. He was a leader on the pitch for Liverpool Football Club, Bayern, Real Madrid C.F. and the Spanish National Team. Mind you, this is only his first full season in Germany, but he has yet to taste defeat, and his team exhibits a clear identity and unity. I have only encountered him in my capacity as an interviewer. I interviewed him both as a player and as a coach. And trust me, the BIG IT is there. As he demonstrated with his decision to remain in Leverkusen. He could have managed Bayern and Liverpool. But he chose to stay where he is. Conveying this message to his players this morning. Expressing it eloquently in a press conference today to take any pressure and attention away from the massive games coming up. A significant credit to Simon Rolfes the Managing Director Sports, and his team. Establishing a culture of growth as they strive to transform Leverkusen into a trophy-winning force. „Life on Earth“ was the first book I asked for as a child, and it had a profound impact on how I see the world. David Attenborough’s work introduced me to the breathtaking biodiversity of our planet, from the arid deserts to lush jungles, from the deep seas to the icy poles. He showed how each life on this planet is interconnected and finely tuned together. I remember vividly reading about the Albatross, with its impressive wingspan, in his book "The Living Planet"; the mesmerizing dance of the bird of paradise, and the gigantic Goliath beetle as big as my palm in "Life on Earth." Each story deepened my awe for the natural world. Einstein once remarked, "There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle" (attributed to him though not definitively proven). David Attenborough embodies this philosophy, revealing to us the miracles all around. Today, his message is more urgent than ever as we face the sixth mass extinction. Unlike previous events caused by natural phenomena, this extinction is driven by human activity, including habitat destruction, climate change, and pollution. Researchers indicate we are currently witnessing species going extinct at rates much higher than the natural background rates, highlighting the critical need for urgent action to prevent future loss. As a conscious species, it is our duty to protect the miracle of life on this blue planet. We are not the end result of evolution but a part of it. Our future depends on the conscious decisions we make today. Humanity cannot thrive without respecting and protecting all living beings on our planet, our home. Thank you, David Attenborough, for inspiring us to see and safeguard the wonders of our world. 🌿 #Biodiversity #Conservation #DavidAttenborough #LifeOnEarth #ProtectOurPlanet

Master of Science in Hospitality & Tourism Management 2023-present, Florida; Master of Education in Leadership 2018, New Zealand.
I was waiting for this session for about two weeks but unfortunately, I missed it. The topic was interesting to me because it would have allowed me to hear some other opinions from a different audience/ experts. In 2018 I conducted a research paper about (Postgraduate learners’ perceptions of factors that support their autonomous motivation to learn in online contexts), when I did my 1st master's degree in New Zealand. I used the self-determination theory as the analytical framework to explore the factors perceived by online learners as supportive of their autonomous motivation to learn in online environments at a postgraduate level. The semi-structured interview findings that emerged from the inductive thematic analysis indicated that factors perceived as supportive of learners’ psychological needs for autonomy, competence, and relatedness, are more likely to enhance online learners’ autonomous motivation and promote the process of internalization allowing more self-determined types of extrinsic motivation to exist. Anyway, if anyone is interested, there is a copy of my research in my profile here on Linkedin if you want to check it out. Thanks, Dr. Miranda for keeping doing these kinds of interesting workshops and sessions.
Big thank you to Britanny N. Balthaser, BA, Lloydine O'Sullivan and Nelson Olivia for making this a fantastic session! 💙💛🐾
