Of the many global crises we face, which do you address first? And how do you deal with the complexity each one of them poses? Is philanthropy helping, or does it need a redesign? Does it indeed pursue the common good? In search of answers, the Pursuit of the Common Good (PCG) initiative conducted a survey of more than 50 experts from around the world on their perceptions of the common good and philanthropy. The results of this ground-breaking survey – the first of its kind on this subject – are presented in the PCG’s 2024 report, A New Paradigm for the Common Good. ➡ https://lnkd.in/eptQipEp

Embedding social value frameworks allow organisations to support and grow community connections in the areas they operate in. Meaningful outreach is especially important for vulnerable people struggling with their mental health. We partnered with the charitable organisation Access Community Trust (ACT) and our customer British Sugar, in King's Lynn, Norfolk. Together, our organisations: 💡 Refurbished the Steam Café, a local hub that provides holistic assistance for adults experiencing mental health issues. 💡 Donated IT and other equipment to the café. 💡 Created employment opportunities for local residents. ACT also helped us provide mental health training for our employees at British Sugar. As a result, we saw a 50% reduction in the number of ‘return to work’ reports citing mental health as cause of absenteeism. Find out more about this #SocialValue project and how to kickstart your own initiatives in our free white paper -> https://lnkd.in/eG3zn7P9. #ESG #CommunitySupport #MentalHealth #ABetterWorldAtWork

"Do Well to Do Good" means that when you achieve financial success or personal prosperity, you have the opportunity to use your resources or influence to make a positive impact on society or the environment. It's about using your success to contribute to the greater good, such as by supporting charitable causes, investing in projects that benefit others, or simply giving back to the community. "Do Well and Do Good" on the other hand, encourages you to not only seek financial success but to actively incorporate social and environmental good into your actions. This could involve starting a green business that is not only profitable but also makes a positive impact, such as by addressing social issues or promoting sustainability. It's about aligning your personal or business success with making a meaningful difference in the world. In essence, both concepts promote the idea that financial success can be a tool for positive change. Have a green week, #linkedin family. #greeneconomy #sustainability #esg
