BEING A REFUGEE IS NOT EASY. We cannot continue in this way. Non-Governmental Organizations, parastals, institutions, countries , powers etc this New Year have a great deal to work on. Instead of spending so much on recovery strategies turn attention to prevention strategies. I personally think people are really tired of moving and starting all over again. Being a refugee is not easy. No matter the benefits at your desk. All these donations should now go towards "The-let-it-not-happen endeavors. Please Please Please. No matter the millions poured into humanitarian aids they can never bring back the lives lost, they can never ever truly heal the psychological traumas of the victims. It will take years to reconstruct what was destroyed. I know it's not easy. We are humans, we are bound to have conflicts but we are naturally as well good at making peace. #preventioniskey #preventionisbetterthancure #wecanmakeabetterworld #warisnotanoption #2wrongsdoesnotmakearight

During my time at @Life Without Barriers, I’ve learned that fostering can come in many forms. Providing care doesn’t have to be full-time; it can be providing a safe space for a young person for a couple of nights or one weekend each month. When it comes to fostering, no two children or families are the same; that’s why Life Without Barriers doesn’t take a one-size-fits-all approach. Think outside the box and learn more about the diverse ways you could make a difference here: https://lnkd.in/gMUF6SGc

Too many families in London and across the country are struggling with food insecurity and going hungry. We see firsthand the growing impact of the cost of living crisis on families accessing healthy and affordable food through services like our FOOD Clubs, Change4Life and WellFamily services. Families we help with practical and emotional support are increasingly finding it hard financially too. We need to do better as a society. By coming together with communities and joining up support available we can overcome some of the barriers families face and create a #PovertyFreeLondon. Find out more about the difference we’re making here. https://bit.ly/466Taz7 #LDNChallengePoverty #FoodInsecurity

Wanted to repost this important reminder. Food banks around the world are critically short of supplies, all year round, but no more so than at this time of year. If you are able, please consider supporting your local food bank, or veterans food bank. #hunger #hungerfornone #hungerrelief #veteranssupport

Gets darned cold in Ottawa this time of year.....a lot of folks are helping our societies most vulnerable.....most of this work goes un-seen. I tip my hat in respect. If even a few of us chipped in a couple-o-bucks we could together buy a meal for a lot of hungry and desperate folks.
