In the spirit of fostering a positive work environment, let's take a moment to reflect on the many blessings we have in our professional lives. It's essential to shift our focus from complaints about work to embracing gratitude for the opportunities and positions we hold. 🌈 While facing challenges is part of any job, let's remember that our current roles might be the dream positions for others. Many individuals are tirelessly searching for employment and aspire to be in the positions we currently occupy. 💼 As we navigate our daily tasks, let's cultivate an atmosphere of appreciation. Instead of dwelling on complaints, let's channel our energy into making our workplace an even better space for collaboration and success. 🙌 Acknowledging the positive aspects of our jobs not only improves our individual well-being but contributes to a harmonious work culture. So, let's unite in gratitude, respecting the opportunities we have and fostering an environment where everyone can thrive. 🌟 "Gratitude turns what we have into enough." - Aesop

A personal post from RES President Gail Behun: As we celebrate Pride Month, I want to share a deeply personal journey that has shaped me both as a parent and as a leader. A few years ago, my child came out as non-binary. This revelation brought a whirlwind of emotions and learning curves. I realized that my expectations as a parent needed to evolve. I had to educate myself, adapt, and grow to become the parent they needed. It was a journey of understanding, acceptance, and unconditional love. This experience taught me invaluable lessons that parallel my professional life. As a leader, I've learned the importance of embracing diversity in the workforce. Just as each child requires different things from their parent, each team member has unique needs and aspirations. It's our responsibility as leaders to recognize and support these individual journeys. Pride isn't just about rainbow flags and parades; it's about introspection and growth. It's about recognizing how diversity enhances our lives and our work. By embracing our differences, we create environments where everyone feels valued and empowered. This Pride Month, let's not just celebrate externally but also look inward. Let's acknowledge the growth, love, and acceptance that the rainbow represents within each of us. Together, we can build a more inclusive and supportive world.

Take every opportunity to celebrate life’s wins. A "well done", "great job" or "you smashed it" costs nothing but means a lot. I was delighted to hear that my niece passed her driving test the other week, and it got me thinking about recognition. Goals might be individual to us, whether they’re inside or outside of work. But when you support others in helping them achieve or celebrate these moments, you become an essential part of their journey. They feel seen and valued. In the workplace, being recognised empowers employees to continue working their magic. It can be a simple thank you or a gift. The main thing is to understand what matters to the person and always be open and willing to celebrate every milestone, however big or small. It’ll not only benefit the individual, but it’ll benefit the business too. As #1 New York Times bestselling author Susan Elizabeth Phillips once said, “Celebrate the success of others. High tide floats all ships.” What are you doing to create or contribute to a culture of recognition? #Recognition #Culture #ThePowerOfThePeople #EmployeeEngagement #HRThoughts

I'm a big believer in the power of recognizing achievements, no matter how small. Whether at work or at home, acknowledging someone's effort can significantly boost their morale and motivation. It's not just about professional settings. Every evening, my kids can't wait to tell me about their day at school, especially the parts they're proud of. Celebrating those moments with them shows how much I value their efforts and achievements. It's a practice that lights up their faces and encourages them to keep striving. Bringing this back to the workplace, even a simple acknowledgment can make a big difference. A quick mention in a meeting or a shout-out in a group chat can significantly uplift someone. This approach has helped foster a positive and supportive atmosphere wherever it's applied. Seeing the direct impact at home and at work convinces me more every day that a little recognition goes a long way.

Employee Appreciation Day is 5 days away! (3/1) Count down with me! 5 Reasons I’m celebrating my team this week: 1. When things get tough, the team gets tougher. Challenges? Bring ‘em on! Pivots? We got that! 2. Clear is kind (Thanks Brené for the motto). We’re a high-trust team that give each other the real talk when needed, in the spirit of excellence. 3. Authenticity is embraced. No filter in our game. We represent our true selves and seek to create environments where others can do the same. 4. We rise by lifting others. One team, one dream- we want everyone to win! 5. Courage is currency. No idea is too large or small. We problem solve through curiosity, understanding that some ideas take courage to tackle. What are your 5 reasons to celebrate your team?!
