Allen County Commissioners praised the work of several county departments and local businesses for coming together to finish an award-winning road project. Representatives from RQAW | DCCM, Milestone Contractors LP, and QuikCut, LLC were joined by the Allen County Highway Department and Redevelopment staff at Monday morning’s presentation of a completed road construction project in the southeast quadrant that will become a model for similar developments in the county. In March, the Allen Martin Drive & Ellenwood Drive Concrete Pavement Restoration project won the 2024 Excellence in Concrete Pavement Award from the Indiana Chapter - American Concrete Pavement Association. VIDEO: Enhancing Faudree Road: Construction Progress and Timeline The ultimate goal of the Faudree Road construction is to expand the roadway from two to five lanes because of the growth in the area, hopefully making it easier for drivers. The hope is that the construction will be complete in the next 18 to 24 months. Here’s a look at the timeline. -They will finish construction from 56th St. To HWY 191 in two to three months. It will make this section of Faudree five lanes. On 56th St., stop signs will be in place until signals are ready; we can expect those to be there for the next four to five months. -The construction will then move to 56th St. to P Bar Ranch Rd. Once construction starts, they expect it to last six to nine months. During these months, they will continue the lane expansion and finish the drainage system. -After completing that section, they will start on the last area, from P Bar Ranch Rd. to Yukon Rd. So far, drivers have been doing a fantastic job and being patient! We continue to ask folks to watch their speed while crews work on the construction. The GOOD NEWS: progress has been going well and faster than expected!

Roadway Closure Alert - Construction begins April 22nd on the Bruce Road Reconstruction Project. The public is advised to expect temporary delays and detours during the 15-18 month construction period. Beginning April 22nd, there will be full road closures at two key sections of the project: (1) Bruce Road immediately south of East 20th Street to approximately 100 yards north of the Skyway, and (2) Bruce Road south of Banner Peak Drive to north of Concord Ave/Picholine Way. While public access will be maintained at key intersections, motorists are advised to seek alternative routes and plan additional travel time to navigate marked detours during construction. The City of Chico recognizes the inconvenience posed by construction activities but assures residents that the long-term benefits of the Bruce Road Reconstruction Project will outweigh temporary disruptions.
