"DZS to scoop up Casa's NetComm business" DZS, a technology company, is set to acquire NetComm, the Australian division of Casa Systems, Inc., for up to $10 million. This acquisition complements DZS's existing portfolio, adding fixed wireless access, Wi-Fi, fiber extension, and enterprise IoT products. The deal includes $7 million at closing and an additional $3 million earn-out if NetComm's 2024 revenues surpass $87.5 million. Around 100 NetComm employees are expected to join DZS, expanding its workforce to approximately 550. DZS views this acquisition as integral to rounding out its access portfolio and expects minimal customer overlap. NetComm's clientele includes major telecom players like UScellular, Bell, and Telstra. "North America rebound provides much-needed boost for Ericsson" Ericsson experienced another year-on-year decline in Q2 sales due to the ongoing telecoms recession, but the drop was less severe than expected, with a notable improvement from the previous quarter. #PCTEL Inc shares surged 47% to $6.86 in late-morning trading on Monday after the wireless technology solutions provider announced that it has agreed to be acquired by #Amphenol Corporation (NYSE:APH) for $7 per share in cash, or a total consideration of about $139.7 million, representing a more than 50% premium to Friday’s closing price.  PCTEL said the deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2023 or early 2024.  "Our team has done an excellent job of growing the business, establishing a leadership position in both antenna and test & measurement (T&M) innovation, and meeting our customers’ strong global demand for high reliability applications," PCTEL CEO David Neumann said in a statement.  PCTEL's products include purpose-built Industrial IoT devices, antenna systems, and test and measurement products.    Shares of PCTEL have gained 60% year to date.    More at #Proactive #ProactiveInvestors http://ow.ly/Lwuj104XXcl

Voice quality gained significant ground with VoLTE with the deployment of 4G LTE networks. The Vo5G market will build on those advancements as evolved voice systems leverage combined 5G core network elements along with IP Multimedia Systems (IMS), VoLTE enhancements, 5G Evolved Packet Core (EPC) and other 5G New Radio (5GNR) 5G radio access network equipment such as smart antennas. While each of these architectures has unique challenges, all of them require network readiness of IMS within the carrier’s network. In addition, each migration path will lead to substantially enhanced voice capabilities via enhanced LTE and VoNR solutions. Nokia, together with BT Group and MediaTek announced that they have successfully completed trials of 5G Reduced Capability (RedCap) technology with #RedCap #devices The trial, which took place at BT Group’s Adastral Park site, utilized Nokia’s AirScale #RAN portfolio, EE’s 5G Standalone (SA) network, and MediaTek’s #RedCap testing platform. RedCap is a technology introduced in 3GPP Release 17 that brings 5G to devices that do not require its full capabilities. It has the potential to expand the IoT ecosystem and accelerate its deployment within the industry. BT Group is evaluating RedCap to support new #5G #usecases which could benefit both EE’s #business and #consumer #customer bases. 5G #devices such as #smartphones often have complex #hardware #wearables or #health #trackers for consumers as well as ruggedized #routers , and #environmental or other condition-based #monitoring #sensors These devices have less demand for battery life and lower bandwidth requirements.
