FACTS 👉 A study on the availability of betting products published this week shows there is no evidence for a higher integrity risk for side markets! As there is such high consumer demand for football betting products (over 56% of gross win globally), restricing these kind of products will only drive consumers towards the unregulated market, where there are no controls and higher risks of fraud. The study demonstrates clear benefits for jurisdictions that allow onshore licensed operators to offer side markets: ·        More consumer protection and greater market oversight ·        More bets means more tax revenue, for example: The Netherlands would experience a $118m  uplift in tax revenue over the next five years if it liberalised access to football side markets (e.g. cards and corners).
