Director of Consumer and Business Services at RNIB | Board member

Friday was my last day in the office, after what has been an amazing 35 years at RNIB, I said a fond farewell as their Director of Consumer and Business Services. I made the difficult but exciting decision to move on to new adventures. It's been one of my toughest decisions, but I'm energised by what comes next! During my time at RNIB I've had the opportunity to lead so many projects, from creating RNIB PenFriend to delivering new digital services for RNIB Bookshare, Talking Books and Braille Libraries and more recently creating new products for RNIB Business Services. I've loved my job, and it has been such a privilege to work with so many talented and committed people over the years. A huge thank you to my incredible team, Robin Spinks, James Bartlett, Justin Gould, nicola cornwell, Richard Holmes, Jennie Mather and Sonali Rai and the inspiring leaders I've had the pleasure to work for over the years John Godber, Steve Tyler, David Clarke OBE, PLY, Neil Heslop OBE, Daphne Mavroudi-Chocholi More on my next chapter soon! #RNIB #InclusiveDesign #Accessibility

Ali, you have made such a phenomenal contribution to everything that has been good about Rnib and it was a real honour and a privilege to work with you. Can’t wait to see what you’re going to be up to next! Thanks for being amazing!

Almost impossible to think about the RNIB without you, your knowledge about the industry and community, and your low drama good humour! You have achieved so much for visually impaired people. All the best with the next chapter - maybe bump into you at Lowestoft some time 😁

Thankyou for being such a strong ally for so many blind and partially sighted people. Thankyou for believing in us, trusting us, respecting us, bringing out the best in us, and above all thankyou for listening. Let nobody be in any doubt, lots of the positive things that came out of RNIB in recent decades were because of your envolvement. Enjoy your well-earned holiday. Wishing you every success with whatever comes next. Oh and thankyou for landing that interview with Stevie. I still pinch myself every day. Amazing. 😃

Many congratulations Alison on all your successes at RNIB.When I joined in 2005, you were already established and doing great things, and I will always appreciate your encouragement and support. I remember you sending me on one potentially tricky assignment, saying you will be fine… I really appreciate the trust you putting me that day, more than the 5:30 am, start it involved… Most people would take a rest after your long career, but I’m not surprised to hear that you have more plans ahead. Please keep us posted. very best wishes, James
