In case you're on the fence with building a personal brand, here's a few things to keep in mind. People don't network with corporations. They don't ask companies out for coffee. They don't invite brands for a drink. Why? People connect with people. Not faceless entities. Not soulless brands. One more reason for you to get that personal brand started.

Anyone who talks about “brand” is probably lying. That word has been overused to the point of idiocy. It’s like the shoelace that’s frayed, that you know even as you tie it that it’s going to break. It’s almost obsolete now. But there’s one meaning that has some value, and for which there’s really no other term. Your #brand isn’t your #logo or your name or your website or anything you can point to and say “That’s my brand.” Your brand is the space you own inside the heads of the people you aim to serve. We all have spaces in our heads labeled with the products and services we use, and those spaces come with descriptors. I have a space labeled “Apple” that used to stand for #innovation and #creativity and now stands for big and slow, and another, new one labeled “Grok” that’s got a “watch this space” label on it. As you bring your #creation to the world and reach out for people who will put it to use, a good frame for what you’re doing is building out the space inside their heads that has your name on it. When you know what you stand for and why you’re here, you give people a reason to hold onto you. And then you can build out that space in their heads from awareness > trial > repeat use > advocacy. I made TWO clients cry this week. Ok, maybe they didn't sob, but there was definitely a light, joyful spritzing when we unveiled the first iteration of their brand repositioning strategies. Imagine thinking this part of the process is boring (I've heard that many times). This is the bit where you learn about what your audiences REALLY want (Spice Girl style) and how to show them you're IT! And your team *finally* agrees on how your brand should be positioned, your messaging, and your vision. It's the part of the process where everything comes together and starts to make sense. Sometimes, for the first time ever. I LOVE unveiling brand strategy because I only ever work with social or environmental impact businesses. So, the strategy and messaging aren't just about building a brand your audiences rave about; they're growing a business that makes a positive difference and gives back. And, my clients are always SO invested in every part of the process. IS THIS THE REAL END OF CORPORATE PRIDE?🌈 ⚠️Important Disclaimer: Please read the presentation first, then the post copy!⚠️ First and foremost, I think it's great that brands are supporting socially challenged topics. But they can't just do it like Bud Light, because doing it wrong can be very bad for a brand. You must communicate with your target audience. You can't expect your brand to reach a different audience the next day. 🤦♂️   🔧 This needs to be done through good brand architecture by creating sub-brands.   Sub-brands can be a good way for a company to expand its products, move into new markets, or create a unique brand identity within its portfolio. By strategically introducing sub-brands, businesses can grow, increase the value of their brands, and reach new market segments. 🚀   In conclusion, a well-designed brand architecture is important for businesses with sub-brands because it serves as a plan for strategic growth and market positioning. It allows clear differentiation, smooth cohesion, brand asset leverage, strategic synergies, and cost efficiency. 💪 By building a strong brand architecture, you can give sub-brands a solid foundation on which to control and grow.   📉 At its worst, the promotion had a negative 26% effect on Bud Light's sales compared to the same time last year. Several top executives have since been taken off Bud Light's team that makes decisions. Delan Mulvaney, who worked with them on this campaign, has since said that Bud Light leaders just ignored him. That is a sad fact and not a good model to follow. ❌   🗣️Final Thoughts: 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝘁. 💔   𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.
