Our Woman and The Society #WatsSessions this month is taking on a new look; a new venue, a larger and more diverse panel, a different theme than we have ever considered - one that provides intersectionality for everyone, female and male.
On the 30th of September, come and listen, learn and engage with our panel of accomplished women leaders on select interconnected topics:
- The woman’s role in societal (and national) development. Does female empowerment promote economic development?
- Why society needs more women-focused organizations
- Why women should lead.
- Women + (small) businesses + the Canadian economy.
- The role of (women) politicians/political parties in increasing women representation in positions of power and at various levels of decision-making
- The role of women development community projects in advancing women in political office. What role can female community leaders play to support women holding public office or advancing the agenda of their offices?
This event is one you do not want to miss.
For this very special edition, an accomplished and dynamic panel of women will be gracing our stage:
- Minister Rebecca Schulz, Minister of Environment and Protected Areas and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Calgary-Shaw (also former Minister of Children's services),
- Minister Tanya Fir, Minister of Arts, Culture, and Status of Women and MLA for Calgary-Peigan (also former Minister of Jobs, Economy and Innovation),
- MLA Chantelle de Jonge, MLA for Chestermere-Strathmore and Parliamentary Secretary for Affordability and Utilities,
- Lana Bentley, not-for-profit leader and community volunteer, will be coordinating the event and moderating the panel,
- Dr. Chika Daniels, MRAIC, NOMA, RIBA., Convener, WTAL | Entrepreneur | Philanthropist | Faculty member, Athabasca University.
