SHRM Conference day 2: The speaker, this morning, Jennifer Mclure, did a great job defining personal brand. I know this is an intimidating topic or not liked by some but the truth is, you have a personal brand whether you’re working on it or not. The goal is to be intentional about what you want to be known for by others to sculpt it into what you want. My takeaways on Personal Brand were: ➡️ Is the perception people have of you compared to peers in similar positions ➡️ Different is better than better -Sally Hogshead ➡️Attracts and Retains talent ➡️Continuously building it provides protection from factors you can’t control ➡️Goes beyond your job title. Think of what makes you remarkable! #SHRM2024 #keepshining #personalbrand #evolution #growth

When I was promoted out of HR to run an iconic brand, I learned something I didn’t know. I learned that we had to be able to differentiate ourselves and our brands from anything else. I learned that different is better than better. I learned that if I was going to be successful, I had to find ways to help my clients and customers become engaged faster and help them deliver systemic solutions that have staying power. I needed to find ways to free up my clients and customers so that they could delve into the intricacies of their business, in order to make it superior. The video that follows talks about one process that has literally revolutionized the executive on-boarding world. 800 plus significant wins! #executiveonboarding #valueproposition #engagedfaster #highimpact #bestleaders Mark Clouse Amish S. Helping organizations and leaders create psychologically rich work experiences. Human Capital Consultant| Change Agent| Leadership Coach| Learning Designer
I have made contact with countless colleagues who have expressed a desire to slow down, pause, and catch their breath after overexerting their talents. They have exhausted themselves to extinction, with less to give themselves and others. As a leader, I wonder about the quality of your giving to employees when you are bent from exhaustion. The default gifts are pizza parties, team-building activities, and maybe a “good job!” here and there. But these surface approaches do nothing to capitalize on the richness of your employees’ talents. The deepest and strongest forms of giving are beyond the outer gestures. It's the witnessing of their cares, the understanding of their stories, and the l listening to their imperfect tunes. This practice is what elevates innovation and employee engagement, as it creates a space for workers to be brave and risk questioning and speaking up about their ideas and concerns, However, before engaging this practice, it is important to shine a light on yourself and investigate your internal wanderings: “What are my needs?” “What areas require attention or rest?” This clarity will provide you with renewed affirmation and a stronger motivation to make a greater impact through self-connection and discovery. I hope that for you. Because the only way to show up fully for your people is to first show up fully for yourself. #selfawareness #EQ #mentalhealth #leadership #employeewellbeing

In today's fast-paced world, it is essential for employers to understand the impact of acknowledgment and incentives on their employees' engagement and productivity. As an employer, you may provide a source of income, but it is the feeling of being appreciated that fuels the fire within individuals to surpass expectations. Recognition is a powerful tool that goes beyond monetary rewards. Employees long for appreciation, acknowledgment, and accolades for their hard work and dedication. When they receive recognition, they feel valued and acknowledged for their contributions, which creates a positive work environment for your business, while boosting their self-esteem. Praise acts as a catalyst for higher performance, encouraging employees to continue maintaining their optimal levels of productivity. It reassures them that their efforts are acknowledged and motivates them to persistently improve and excel at their tasks. Let's harness the power of recognition, praise, and rewards to foster a motivated and engaged workforce, propelling your business' success. Together, we can create a culture that values and appreciates our employees, inspires innovation, and achieves remarkable results for all! 🌟 #EmployeeRecognition #AppreciationMatters #MotivationMatters #EmployeeEngagement #RecognitionCulture #PerformanceBoost #AchievementUnlocker

Want to retain your employees better and for longer? ⭐ Give them the recognition they deserve. 👏 A simple well done and a thanks goes a long way, and is often something we don't see enough in the workplace. Note - Make sure you understand how your employees like to be recognised, some prefer it to be public, other's like it to be in a one to one environment. 🤝 #EmployeeRewards #EmployeeRecognition #Curated

Making Empathy Actionable • 750K+ Students • Stutterer • Keynote Speaker • Posts and articles about engaging empathy
What makes you BOLD? The second talk I ever gave was an Ignite talk; each talk is five minutes, you get twenty slides and they automatically advance every 15 seconds. It's an excellent way to practice being concise while also getting comfortable on stage in a low stakes (and extremely quick) environment. But as a stutterer? A person who occasionally needs extra time to say things as simple as my own name? WHAT WAS I THINKING?! Long story short, I gave the talk - I didn't die! - and was invited to speak at an actual conference (hiiiiiii Jim Remsik 🤗 ). And that was the conference that really kicked off my speaking career. Boldness is a result of doing something outside of your norm. Maybe something that scares you, but definitely something that challenges you. Being bold means being courageous and vulnerable; being bold is empathy personified. Join me and over 1,000 HR Professionals at Arizona SHRM's Annual Conference August 31 in Phoenix as I talk about empathy and boldness! https://lnkd.in/gVxBqAQg #2023azshrmconference #arizonaconference #HR #HRprofessionals #stateconference #continuingeducation #certification #shrm #humanresources #shrmstudents #leadership #azshrm #bebold
