On this 4th of July, I reflect on the ideals of liberty and justice for ALL. While we celebrate our nation's independence, it's essential to recognize that true liberation and freedom must include everyone, including BIPOC, queer, and trans communities. There is still so much work to be done to achieve genuine equality and inclusion. Let's commit to making these ideals a reality for all. #LibertyAndJusticeForAll #TrueFreedom #Inclusion #Equality

According to NAMI, 16% of Black Americans, roughly 7 million Black Americans reported experiencing symptoms of mental illness within the last year. As part of this year‘s Juneteenth programming, the Black Heritage Employee Resource Group, BHERG, at Cleveland Clinic hosted an incredible panel about the unique stigma, challenges, and ongoing disparities around mental health in the black community.

The Cleveland Clinic Office of Diversity and Inclusion just wrapped up a few days visiting Cleveland Clinic Canada. It was terrific to meet their incredible team of caregivers, to learn how they are incorporating DEIB practices into their work, sharing with them the work our office has done, and learning how we can partner with and support them to advance their DEIB efforts.
