Please see the following: It's no secret that many a business deal has been closed on a golf course and golf has long been regarded as the language of business. Historically, golf has been a male-dominated sport, and societal norms and expectations have discouraged women from actively participating or seeking opportunities on the golf course. In this male-dominated setting, women can feel added pressure to prove themselves which can lead to heightened anxiety and reduced confidence. Because of the stereotypes and pressure to perform, women continually take themselves out of the conversation by choosing not to participate in golfing-related activities. Encouraging women to embrace golf and providing opportunities for women to participate will foster a more inclusive and dynamic environment that can benefit both business and personal growth. GolfHER was created to address these issues by creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for women on the golf course. Promoting equal opportunities, offering access to training and development, and celebrating the achievements of female golfers can help break down the barriers and boost women's confidence on the golf course. GolfHER is putting women back in the conversation. I first heard of #CycleSisters through the London National Park City. They encourage and support Muslim women to cycle more. Through their work, they are breaking down the barriers to making cycling an inclusive activity for all. For today's Motivational Monday, I bring you the Indigenous Rarámuri Women. Wearing traditional huaraches and sandals, six indigenous women from the Rarámuri community of Chihuahua ran in relays approximately 340 miles between Los Angeles and Las Vegas. The six Rarámuri women completed “The Speed Project” marathon in 52 hours and 22 minutes in Las Vegas. The race, which is by invitation only, starts at the Santa Monica Pier and ends at the Las Vegas welcome sign. Veronica Palma, Ulisa Fuentes, Lucia Nava, Rosa Parra, Argelia Orpinel, and Lucia Nava took third place in the marathon. Each runner completed 35 miles without stopping, day and night. Lucia Nava, in particular, ran the marathon relay just three months after giving birth. The six Rarámuri women answered the invitation and came down from the mountains of Chihuahua Native to northern Mexico, in the state of Chihuahua, the Rarámuri settled 15,000 years ago in the western Sierra Madre. Since colonial times, they have used the protection of the mountains to preserve their culture and traditions, including running. This tradition stems from the surrounding ecologically harsh environment. However, for hundreds of years, Rarámuri men and women have competed in uninterrupted day and night running distances of more than 200 km. So what are you waiting for? Happy #NationalWomeninSportsDay! As a female-founded marketing agency, we like to recognize the women who are changing the game — as powerful and poised athletes and united as consumers. Over 800,000 women in the US have taken up golf in the past two years, challenging the narrative that it's an exclusive sport and shifting the TAM across a multibillion-dollar industry (see article for more details below). As golf has traditionally been the sport where deals-get-done, more women on the fairway could be the key to more women in the board room. "My energy is being drained by constantly overanalyzing. Now I realise that was just preparation for the journey I was on. This article is beautifully written and well-researched. There are not words to explain how this woman is a giant not only in her industry, but in how she is living her life. This article should be required reading in every school. Dedication, determination, devotion not only to the game, but her fans and the people who are lucky enough to be in her life.

I've been pretty quiet on the debate that's unfolding around the lack of women at Red Bull Rampage this year. Mostly because I believe in developing a well-informed opinion before speaking. And partly because, as a woman in the outdoor industry, I see parallels that make me uncomfortable. However, I think in order for things to move forward, we need more advocates in this space and should welcome hard-conversations. Here's my hot-take: - Without women having the opportunity to do hard things, they cannot level up - Without equal representation, other opportunities like sponsorship are harder to obtain - Without visibility in mainstream media, the younger generation lack role models and again women miss out on airtime that drives opportunity - Without invitation and investment, the likelihood of women reaching their full potential is reduced massively - Without the chance to perform at the highest level, practical mentorship opportunities cannot come full-circle - Without allowing women to lead, the sport and industry lack the diverse perspectives that are vital for a well-rounded culture - Without women having the platform and tools to develop their skills, they're at an instant disadvantage - Without the chance to perform at a higher level, women don't have a green light to succeed and can loose the confidence they need to gain expertise - Without the opportunity to attend and be part of high-stakes events/projects, women loose credibility for their craft and adequate pay opportunities for what they're bringing to the table - Without peers in positions of authority or expertise, it's hard for women to visualise a path forward - Finally, if it's half-assed, then it's not equal I don't want this to be seen as a rant. I'm aware of the nuance of this topic and it is by no means a man-hunt. I recognise that there are challenges around logistics, venue, safety of riders, gap in skill and media coverage, for Rampage in particular. However, with the lack of Formation this year, there's a gaping hole in women's freeride in the desert, and it's something that deserves to be addressed for a more equitable future in our sport. Women's football is doing it. Women's rugby is doing it. Even women's road biking is doing it with the Tour de Femmes gaining around 2 million viewers per stage. So what's stopping us from giving women a platform to progress and succeed in the most testing freeride spot on the planet? It's amazing to see big players in the space commenting on current events.
