Do you think a portrait has to be painted to be art? I believe that portrait photography is an art. All the same elements as a painting are considered: Composition, lighting, texture, angles, shapes. I know that any old photo of a person (for example snapped thoughtlessly on a phone) isn't art. But a photo, a deliberately considered portrait, with a vision to communicate something about that person or a concept, that I consider to be art.
