There is a simple "secret" to most of my success in the last 10 years. And that "secret" is this: Mistakes. Most people see mistakes as: • Receiving a negative outcome. • Doing something incredibly wrong. • Failing at something. Whoever, that's not entirely accurate. I see mistakes as: • A reason to try again. • Something to learn from. You'll make progress if you don't make the same mistake twice. Success comes from trying again. And again. After each mistake I've made in the past, here's what I've gained: • Confidence • Experience • Wisdom • Ideas I've also learned a lot about what NOT to do moving forward. Launched a failed product? • Find the weak points. Website conversions fell? • Check the copy and sales funnel. With each step, you get closer to success. It'll only get easier the more you learn from your past. This I can promise you. — If you're ready to take LinkedIn seriously, grab my free 7-module video course here: alexcolhoun.com ♻️ Repost and follow me (Alex Colhoun) for more content on how to build your one-person business on LinkedIn.

Mistakes are often demonized, but they're truly a badge of honor for anyone who's ever achieved anything worthwhile.  Here's why your perspective resonates: Mistakes are Stepping Stones: Imagine trying to climb a mountain without footholds. It would be nearly impossible. Mistakes, while they might sting at the moment, are the footholds that help us learn, grow, and eventually reach the summit of our goals. They Breed Resilience: The ability to bounce back from failure is a critical muscle for success. Every time you weather a mistake and come back stronger, you build resilience. This grit becomes crucial when facing future challenges. They're Information Powerhouses: There's a goldmine of information hidden within every mistake. By analyzing what went wrong, we can identify areas for improvement, refine our strategies, and avoid repeating the same missteps.

Failures teaches us in two ways- → They teach us what not to do, so that we don't repeat it again. → They teach us what to do, so that we do it better the next time. A failure is not a guarantee of success the next time. But it is a guarantee that you will learn something new, get better and will move one more step closer to success. So try and fail, as many time as possible.

Fail forward! It's hard to even call it failure when there's so much value we can get from it if we don't quit. Trying things that don't work gives us lots of raw material to try another thing or the same thing another way. It's hard to lose if you keep learning from your "failures".

Just try stuff + quit holding so tight to how you want things to play out. Enjoy how it is, not how you’re insisting things are like a toddler who can’t have more juice 🧡

Absolutely agree, Alex! Embracing mistakes as learning opportunities is key to growth and success. Thanks for sharing this valuable insight!

Mistakes are our biggest teachers, in my early days I used to make loads of mistakes, even in client work and it was depressing tbh but those mistakes help me make a system of content creation and seamless execution with different levels of identifying mistakes

This is so true- although can be so easy to lose sight of the lessons in our mistakes and fall into frustration. I guess it's like a muscle that needs to be strengthened time and time again

Mistakes are scary, but they make us wise. When I started working back in 2019, I used to annoy my sister so much. She reviewed everything I wrote and gave me feedback on what was wrong. I can't explain how many mistakes I made back then. But here I am today! Working with great clients across the globe. I've open-heartedly taken all the criticism and learned the do's and don'ts of copywriting, Alex.

I see where you are coming from with this and I completely agree with you. Your mistakes allow you to troubleshoot on future projects a lot quicker which makes the % of success a lot higher.
