AI Software Solutions Engineer at Intel

I attended AI Cal Hacks at the University of California, Berkeley from June 22-23 on behalf of Intel Corporation. This is the FIRST hackathon where students had access to Gaudi 2 and AI PCs for their projects! We saw familiar faces from previous hackathons, demonstrating that some students are getting more and more proficient with using our Intel® Tiber™ Developer Cloud, powered with the 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Processors and Data Center GPU Max 1100s. Don't get left out, more info on cloud.intel.com. I had a packed room for my workshop on Building a Custom Chatbot with Intel Extension for Transformers. You can find the content here: https://lnkd.in/gwtqq3Pc You can also find something similar with our ChatQnA GenAI Example as part of the OPEA project: https://lnkd.in/gYkEsHwa This works with Gaudi and Xeon. As for the winners of Intel's track, we have: 1st Place: Dispatch AI (also won 1st Place Overall!), an agent eliminating 911 wait times during critical emergencies. They used Intel® Extension for PyTorch that reduced inference time from 2 minutes 53 seconds to 10 seconds, an 80% improvement. https://lnkd.in/gYrV6CXG 2nd Place: Batteries by LLM, predicts the structure of new lithium-ion electrolytes from text descriptions to develop more efficient batteries. This project is built on Gaudi. https://lnkd.in/gPjBv4vn 3rd Place: Accel, an empathetic chemistry tutor. This project is built on the AI PC. https://lnkd.in/gbt8gGT6 Congratulations to the winners! Help them get the recognition they deserve for pulling off amazing projects in only 26 hours. This would not have been possible without my Intel colleagues pulling together as One Intel! What a hackathon, even for us. Gabrielle Amoranto Benjamin Odom Eduardo Alvarez Omar Toral Rahul Unnikrishnan Nair
