I get asked all the time about how I'm able to juggle everything I do.   For context, I have a YouTube Channel (Alex The Analyst), an Analytics Consulting company (Alex Analytics LLC), an Analytics Learning Platform (Analyst Builder), and I have 3 kids and a wife.   That's a lot, but I've gotten into a really good routine over the past 4 years to manage it quite well.   Here's my routine almost every day:   6:00am: Get up and help get kids dressed, fed, and off to school (wife drives them which saves me time) 7:15am: Post on Social Media each day (Instagram, LinkedIn, and X) 7:45am: Catch up on emails, comments, messages (I get about 100 messages and 150 comments per day so I prioritize and respond to as many as I can in about 45 minutes 8:30am: Start consulting work (usually responding to clients, looking at emails, jumping into meetings, looking at code, researching solutions online, etc.) 12:00pm: Record Videos for YouTube, Analyst Builder, and TikTok/Instagram 3:30pm: Kids get home and I stop working to have family time, dinner, and bedtime routine 8:00pm: Family goes to sleep and I start working again (Planning for the next day, responding to more comments and emails, etc.) 11:30pm: Head to bed I usually work around 10-11 hours during the weekdays and on weekends I work when everyone is asleep for about 3 hours.   So in a normal week I work around 60-65 hours.   I feel like I have a very healthy balance where I get a lot of time with my kids every day, my wife and I go on date days/nights about once a week, and I'm still able to get all of my work done.

This routine literally blew up my mind! This seems good but I'm guessing there is a thin line between doing all of it and getting burnt out. Also, if you are already doing this for a while, it's quite commendable since you have already found a balance. Question to you, Alex - How often do you take breaks/vacation to keep the momentum going? What's your mantra here to stay oncourse?

Very insightful. Could I ask how do you keep your energy levels up? Do you naturally just have good energy levels? Do you take any kind of supplements? What about exercise?

That time between (3:30 pm and 8 pm) when you initially stop working during the day to spend time with the kids is my biggest challenge because I will keep thinking about having work left to do on my desk and can't get my mind off it.

60-65 hours per week is a healthy balance for you?! 😵💫 this is where I'd probably burn out. Remember to have some time for yourself !

One thing I would probably stress here too is Alex Freberg put A LOT more hours and experience gained into this over the past few years to make this more automatic, consistent. To get started doing this type of thing, it might often take a lot more of your time than this, but finding the right balance for your goals/ ambitions is key

Seems like a great setup. My only question is: does your family actually sleep from 8pm to 6am?? Or do they wake up before you?
