For the third year, PeopleForBikes commissioned a nationwide trend study on bicycling participation from the Physical Activity Council. The reports span five cycling categories: unpaved (mountain), paved (road), BMX, stationary (group), and stationary (individual). These reports represent our industry’s best estimate for participation in specific cycling activities during 2023 and provide valuable insights to help understand overall trends in ridership and analyze audience segments. Exactly! What may of of us in BASC, HUBS Coop, ALABIKE have advocating for. Identify the places (nodes, hubs, attractions) then build safe infrastructure connection to those "places" and is how to build a network for pedestrians, bikes, transit, even cars. this would be a good webinar to watch!

One criticism against the cycling industry by those who are leaving it is that it's not always very professional. What I think they fail to acknowledge however, is that in the large part, it is just a bunch of people doing the best they can with what they love and what they know. We don't have £1m marketing budgets. We don't have PAs. It's like hundreds of independent traders all swimming along together and occasionally bumping into each other. I have been exercising my "Beginner mindset" this week. (Now I understand how all those over 45s felt when I started out teaching and interactive whiteboards were a new thing.) So, that being said, I'm taking our marketing and client communication into the 21st century! If it doesn't flow like you would expect, let me know. Organic Sustainability Within Ecosystems That does more than merely coexist have a certain feel and look to them. Basically #People, #Processes, #Data, and #Technology (PPDT) Objectively correlate with forward progressive Purpose. The ability of this concept is not perfect world🗺, but rather not one voice is constantly being the Squeakiest wheel. The Vision simply manifest as needed for differing degrees (Fit-Form-Function) for Value Streams and Departments to deliver Value Creation against Client and Consumer #Specifications. Some of the best observations I have witnessed in my fundamental understanding of Continuous Improvement came by way of observing and participating in Open All Skate Sessions growing up at any Skating Venue (Florida And It’s Skating Style Is Home). Today, the styles may have shifted slightly within new generations, but the Basic fundamental Purpose or the Drive to have #People, #Places, and #Things from all #Conscious Walks of L.I.F.E. converge onto an ensemble of various Speeds (Operating & Delivery Rates), Available Ambience During Different Times Of The Day (Service Offering), Skate & Accessory Choices (Product Offerings), Patterns (Product Runs), and Associated Groups (Groupthink Within #Tolerances) has stayed the same. The Songs (SOPs, How-To’s, Standard Work, Cross-Functional Training, Etiquette, etc.) determine the Forward Vision, not commercialized boxed in approaches, checked boxes, red tape, or glorified likes. The Culture is determined by the Adaptive Shared Learned Response within The Current State or over Time, The Future State. The need for convoluted Policies and Structures seems less apparent within Ecosystems expressing active #Transparency and #Cohesiveness. Observably, shuffling or mix sessions take place in the center of the skating rink, while training happens at the perimeter or off the main floor. General skating is observed to flow within the middle of these two Operating Conditions. This is like the flow of Best-Practices being driven through Operational Excellence (Operations, Training, and Kaizen/A3/ Rapid Improvements Events). #Organic #Sustainability Within #Ecosystems is plausible but so is: 🎯 L.I.F.E.
