Do you remember your first job? For some of us, our first jobs may seem like an insignificant thing of the past that collects dust at the bottom of our CVs. However, a lot of the time some of the most valuable skills that we learn about the world of work come from our first endeavours. This is why, when recruiting new talent, it's important to take the time to scroll through that experience section and see where someone started off - it may tell you more about them than you might think and help you make a more informed decision! In the spirit of this, we asked the OrgShakers to share their first jobs and one skill that it taught them that they still use today. Share your first jobs and a valuable skill you learnt from it below in the comments! #recruitment #talent #firstjob

Networking becomes crucial in this journey. Reaching out to people for references and requesting them to keep us informed about any job openings is a common strategy. However, the process isn't always smooth. There are instances when HR professionals initially connect with us, but later on, when we follow up, we're met with silence. This lack of response can be disheartening, leaving us with a sense of disappointment and frustration. The job search journey is tough. Building Teams and Advancing Careers | CEO & Executive Recruiter @ Supreme Talent | The Gold Standard in Recruitment
Have you ever been passed over for a job because you didn't have a degree? I know I have. But as a recruiter, I've learned that a degree doesn't always reflect a candidate's true abilities. That being said, a degree can open doors to certain job opportunities and demonstrate a certain level of dedication and discipline. But, it's not the only factor we consider when evaluating a candidate. We focus on the candidate's skills, experience, and what they bring to the table. I once placed a candidate who didn't have a degree but had a wealth of experience and skills, and most importantly, an exceptional personality that made him the perfect fit for the job. He went on to succeed in his role and was even promoted within the first year. Don't let a lack of degree hold you back from reaching your career goals. Share your own experiences in the comments below, and let's start a conversation about the importance of skills, experience, and attitude rather than a piece of paper (a degree). #CareerOpportunities #RecruitmentInsights #CareerSuccess #JobSearchTips #CareerAdvice #Supremetalent
