Freelance Senior Copywriter | Website Copy & Positioning | Copy Training & Consulting for Busy Marketing Teams | Founder of Cool Copy Newsletter (2.8K readers)
How I know a website headline I write will hit. I ask this question: "Will the ideal customer know what this means?" Meaning, I avoid words or phrases that customers don't use. I research to learn what they do say. Examples: • Do they say 'Internal processes' or 'workflows' • Do they say 'presentations' or 'pitch decks' • Do they say 'software applications' or 'platforms' • Do they say 'data analytics' or 'business intelligence' or 'make informed decisions' Know your audience. Learn how they talk about their problem. Learn how aware they are about the problem they need solved. Lead them to your solution. #copywritingtip
