🇱🇹🇪🇺In the historical mansion dedicated to quality food in the heart of Vilnius old town Senatorių Pasažas the Gfarm For Life officially kicked off, with AgriFood Lithuania as a lead for the consortium! 💡Why is this project unique? All 10 participants in the consortium are national partners, including representatives from public authorities, non-profit organizations, academia, and business. 💯In addition, #GFarmforLIFE is not just about us – it’s relevant for the entire EU. GHG emissions mitigation, carbon footprinting, and #CarbonFarming are hot topics among EU leaders right now. For example, at the recent congress of the most influential economists in the #agrifood sector, Marion Jansen the Director of the Trade and Agriculture Directorate OECD - OCDE highlighted one of the priorities: to bring together the available methodologies and tools for measuring and reducing carbon footprints and to create a unified and efficient measuring system or food systems footprint report. I will quote the Vice-Minister at Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania Kestutis Setkus about #Lithuania leadership in climate action in general. There are partners from Lithuania in 27 out of the 44 projects of the LIFE Programme and the #GFarmforLIFE topic is the only one focusing on #changes in the #AFOLU sector. 📣 While the path to a unified framework for increasing value chain resilience to climate change will be a long one, we're taking solid first steps. Agri Sud-Ouest Innovation is building closer relationships with Spain. Through the European CESAM project, we are starting a collaboration with Catalonia and the Balearic Islands within the Pyrenees-Mediterranean Euroregion on the theme of the circular economy. Together with the Eurorégion Pyrénées - Méditerranée , ACCIÓ , Fundacio IBit AD'OCC and 5 SMEs, Asclepios Tech (FR), NewTIMES (FR), @gozerowaste (ES), Derypol, S.A, (ES), TERRACOR (ES), the project will develop innovative solutions for the valorisation of wastewater, for waste reduction and packaging optimisation. Biobased industries and alternatives to fossil-based solutions are a developing fast and strongly. At the Biomodel4Regions Horizon Europe we are looking at pilot regions and best governance structures to support these ecosystems. Last week, I attended the consortium meeting to discuss progress and participated in Western Macedonia's workshop organized by CluBE-Cluster of Bioeconomy and Environment of Western Macedonia, addressing challenges and outlining next steps. This Friday, April 19, Stefano Pisciotta, Innovo’s Head of Agribusiness, will be attending the General Assembly of AIAS - Associazione Italiana Agrivoltaico Sostenibile, the Italian Association for Sustainable Agrivoltaics. This will be a valuable opportunity to discuss the latest technological, regulatory, and social developments in agrivoltaics with the main players in the sector. In the morning, AIAS will host an open session to explore the tailored solutions that agrivoltaics offers to support farming communities in different social and political contexts. Indeed, agrivoltaics is, by definition, a mediating approach that brings together the need for sustainable production of energy and food on the same land. This land is not abstract, but part of the landscape, an experience of communities living in a specific territory, with specific economies and relationships. 320 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐊𝐊 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬 🌱💡   The Danish government and parliamentary parties have just reached agreements on the allocation of 4.2 billion DKK for research.   More than half of the amount is earmarked for green research and development, securing 320 million DKK for the four green innovation partnerships: INNO-CCUS, MissionGreenFuels, AgriFoodTure, and TRACE 🌿��🌱   Anette Engelund Friis, Mission Director at AgriFoodTure, applauds the new agreement:   "In AgriFoodTure, our mission is to accelerate the green transition of the Danish agri-food system and position Denmark as the leader for innovative, green solutions. The new agreement helps maintain our focus on the mission, allowing us to serve as the leading platform for initiating new partnerships and cross-cutting collaborations across the entire value chain.
