“I started my journey with Beam Suntory in the Training Tomorrow’s Talent (T3) program, which is a three-year sales and marketing rotational program that aims to train the next generation of leaders in the spirits industry. I’m currently in my third year and the program has equipped me with the brand knowledge and skills to be able to navigate this industry. I’ve had so many impactful and rewarding experiences at Beam Suntory, like supporting minority owned businesses and helping to highlight local businesses without a strong Beam Suntory Portfolio presence. I don’t see a lot of Gen Z or Black women on the sales side of the spirits industry. Despite this, I used that to my advantage to build authentic relationships with mentors and my on and off-premise accounts. I remember when I first started working in the sales field, people would mistake me for being an intern or would tell me that women don’t drink bourbon. I would use these moments as an opportunity to educate them on our brands and their heritage, proving them wrong by showing them the demographics of our consumers. As someone who’s new in their career journey and a first-generation college student, I sometimes put a lot of pressure on myself to succeed in my career... But I like to remind myself that if I am moving with intention, then I am exactly where I am meant to be. I have done the work to make impactful connections within the spirits industry and my accomplishments thus far speaks to that. Through the resources available to me at Beam Suntory, I’ve been able to build an incredible network and gain a mentor in Kanata Herring, Senior Manager Innovation, who has given me a lot of great advice on how to develop a healthy work-life balance and navigate my career. It’s important to have another mentor who looks like myself. I think it’s important for the spirits industry to continue to hire employees from a range of backgrounds, including younger generations because differences generate new ideas about how we engage consumers from a marketing perspective. We’re already seeing the way Generation Z is impacting the industry, from e-commerce, to social media and the influence we have on buying trends. It’s important for businesses to bring in a wide variety of voices so they can have a seat at the table.” Desiree W., T3 Marketing Associate, US #PeopleofBeamSuntory #genz #genzatwork #firstgen #spiritsindustry

Today, as we conclude the celebrations of our 25th anniversary on this festive day, we all want to say with one voice: THANK YOU, Miguel Casal! None of this would have been possible without your leadership! Miguel Casal, CEO and Chairman of COSTA NOVA Industria, represents the drive to bring Portuguese ceramic tradition to the world. Everyone in the company knows him. He is more present than any of us, familiar with every file and mastering every issue. This is not an exaggeration – his work ethic is exemplary, and his intelligence is boundlessly admired. He leads with expertise. Above all, Miguel is a remarkable entrepreneur and visionary. The company, which began modestly yet ambitiously at the start of the century, is now a global reference. It operates four manufacturing units in the Industrial Areas of Vagos and Ílhavo. Projects like the COSTA NOVA brand, present in over 60 countries, and ecogres show his capacity for innovation and success. "Our story has always been based on a very simple vision: innovation," he says. He is often seen cycling through the factory floor, always ensuring the quality of the final product and the well-being of his team. We know he will continue to inspire and lead, bringing ambition for success to the table every day. "Many times, we were in the right place, at the right time, with the right people. Circumstances often dictate success or failure – sometimes by a small margin. We had a mix of luck and vision," he adds. We respectfully contest this, Eng. Casal, because luck requires a lot of hard work, and nothing that happened in these 25 years was by chance. It was (and above all) a result of your personal effort!

Throughout the month of Feb I've decided to spotlight and provide you with insights into the amazing people within Reckitt's UKI Commercial business. Next up is the fabulous Stephanie Lilley (and beloved dog), our Regional General Manager for Reckitt's UKI Hygiene business... 🐾 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗸𝗶𝘁𝘁’𝘀 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲? I find the Reckitt culture to be fast paced, action oriented, delivery focused, inclusive, caring & fun. These are the reasons I enjoy it so much. 🐾 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗸𝗶𝘁𝘁? When I first joined Reckitt as a graduate trainee, I was told that the Directors and General Manager expected me to challenge them, and I should expect to be part of debate & discussion. From day one, my opinion has mattered at Reckitt, and I try to take this same approach with my own team. This is why I love Reckitt! 🐾 𝗙𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗞𝗜 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝘆𝗴𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁? We have a really enthusiastic, dynamic, caring & inspirational team. Every minute I spend with them is a privilege. I like to walk around the office chatting to people, learning about their lives, what they’re working on, how I can support them. I don’t know if they enjoy it so much, but it gives me energy! 🐾 𝗙𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗸𝗶𝘁𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝘆? This is very specific, but Optrex Actimist. I remember launching the product and watching it fly so it will always hold a special place in my heart, and if you have hay fever or dry eyes, there really is nothing better. It’s also really easy to use. #freedomtosucceed #culture

Material Requirements Planning || Demand & Supply Planning || Process Optimization || S & OP || Product MasterData Maintenance
This past year has been one laced with growth. It's been one year since I joined Pernod Ricard and certainly, the first couple of months came with a potpourri of emotions: moving from settling into my new role to self-doubt, from pushing myself to eventually getting a hang of the demands of the role. Joining at a time when the organisation was going through a series of transformations, it appeared my teething phase lingered longer than I'd anticipated. Struggling to find my rhythm meant I occasionally doubted my abilities and contemplated throwing in the towel a couple of times. To get past this stage, two things worked for me. Firstly, in my subconscious, I was convinced that if I could endure, be consistent, push myself, and not give up, I'd come out stronger. Lastly, I had the support and cheering of those that mattered the most; my family and colleagues. Munirat Yahaya was that one person who kept believing in me. In fact, she opened my mind to cracking what I had thought impossible, and this was the beginning of me getting my groove back. I also enjoyed the immense support of my line manager - thank you, Bode Omosagba, for seeing the potential in me and for providing the required support all the way. I'm elated that the efforts I put into turning things around didn't go unnoticed as I clinched two awards at the FY23 company retreat and awards ceremony. Having won the CEO award and the "Deliver through collaboration" award, I'm motivated to continue to give my utmost best to contribute to the growth of the business. As I continue to put in the work, I'm excitedly looking forward to what the future holds. #workanniversary #resilience #appreciation

🎉 Celebrating 5 Years at Colgate Palmolive ! 🎉 Grateful and humbled to mark 5 incredible years at Colgate-Palmolive ! 🚀 As I reflect on this journey, I want to share five invaluable lessons: 1. Always put in your best effort: Life is full of surprises, and the outcomes may not always align with our initial expectations. Nonetheless, take solace in knowing that your best effort sets the stage for growth and resilience. 2. Never stop learning: The professional landscape is ever-changing—today it's AI, tomorrow, who knows? Embrace the uncertainty, find comfort in your ability to adapt, and know that continuous learning is your superpower. 3. Be open to meeting new people: Working in a multinational company exposes one to individuals with diverse backgrounds and cultures. Embrace these connections; they're not just professional relationships but gateways to broader perspectives and understanding. 4. Be available: Opportunities often wear disguises and may not appear as such. Be willing to seize extra responsibilities; they are not just tasks but valuable opportunities to network, grow, and showcase your capabilities. 5. Celebrate small wins: The journey is filled with both small and significant milestones. While the adage says "never rest on your laurels," taking time to acknowledge the small victories provides fuel for the ongoing journey. It's a reminder that every step forward is worth celebrating. Here's to the lessons learned, the challenges conquered, and the growth ahead! Thank you, Colgate-Palmolive, for an amazing 5 years. 🙌 #CareerMilestones #5YearsStrong #LessonsLearned

Starting Equinox World Wide's first office location last year on the same day (1st March 2023) was a serendipitous occurrence. Persuaded by destiny, I found myself launched into my entrepreneurial journey right in the midst of my corporate career. Perched in a cubicle amidst the tranquil suburbs of India, I delved into online marketplaces, seeking out niche categories to assist budding brands. The sudden understanding of how a mere shift in content and the application of effective marketing strategies could profoundly influence a brand's customer experience left an indelible mark. Looking back on that serendipitous moment, it seems as though fate had a hand in it. As we mark our first anniversary today, I am grateful for the numerous unique opportunities to meaningfully impact lives and livelihoods at scale, globally. From contributing to the early experiments (and some inevitable failures) in inventing the Marketplace AI Marketing Strategies, and shaping a few budding brands, to leading Equinox's international expansion into US and various emerging geographies – it has been an incredible journey. This experience has taught me the power of customer obsession, innovation on their behalf, and long-term thinking. Most importantly, I have cherished the daily learning experiences from inspiring colleagues and customers. I remain as energized and excited about what lies ahead. 2nd year on, it feels the same, still Day 1. #EWWphoria #workmilestone #Anniversary #EquinoxWorldWide #customerobsession #companyculture #innovation #Itstillday1

Thank you Business & Hotel Management School (BHMS) for giving me the opportunity to share my academic and professional story with my former classmates and current students at BHMS. It has taken me through a series of prestigious institutions and allowed me to cultivate a rich tapestry of knowledge and experiences. My journey began with an ambitious dive into the Bachelor of Science program in Political Science at Lund University, a period characterized by rigorous study and the formation of a solid scholarly base. The quest for comprehensive understanding also led me to study at SOAS University of London as well as The American University of Paris- an experience that proved invaluable for my global perspective. Venturing beyond my studies, I had the extraordinary chance to engage in a volunteer program, called AIESEC in Shanghai. Additionally, I also worked at the Swedish Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Zurich. Transitioning from this robust foundation in political science, I advanced toward a dual MBA program at City University of Seattle in partnership with BHMS, where I further bridged the gap between theory and application. This strategic move into the realm of Global Business Management and Hospitality Management was a natural progression, aligning my educational goals with my passion for culturally diverse environments and a career dedicated to nurturing interpersonal connections and understanding. My career at Bühler Group as Events Manager for the CUBIC Innovation Campus is truly an amazing and inspiring journey with the best colleagues and the best supervisor you can imagine. Thanks to Bühler, I also had the opportunity to further my education in the field of Human Resource Management. My professional trajectory has been a testament to my dedication to exploring global perspectives and preparing for a future in human-centric fields. As someone who has traversed the academic landscape, from the foundational studies in political science to advanced business management and beyond, I want to share a piece of advice with those of you who might be uncertain about your future career path. The key is to remain open-minded. Embrace a spirit of exploration and be willing to step beyond the familiar boundaries of your comfort zone. #businessskills #careeropportunities #professionalgrowth
After graduating with an MBA from BHMS, Charlotte Sofie Odeving now works as an events manager at the Bühler Group, a leading Swiss multinational. Global Learning and Development Leader @ Avolta | Master Instructional Designer, DE&I, EQ-I, Performance Coach
Last week's visit to one of our Avolta distribution centers served as a poignant reminder of the journey I've undertaken, transitioning from the realm of hotels to the vibrant landscape of retail and F&B. As I navigated through the bustling corridors and engaged with our dedicated teams, it struck me how different the environments were, yet how interconnected they remained at their core. While the industries may vary in their nuances, the essence of my role has remained steadfast: to serve, support, and uplift our teams to achieve greatness both professionally and personally. Whether it's ensuring seamless operations in the hospitality sector or optimizing performance in retail, my commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a culture of excellence remains unwavering. In every interaction, every decision made, and every challenge overcome, the common thread is clear: a relentless dedication to empowering individuals to reach their full potential. As I continue to evolve in this dynamic landscape, I am reminded that regardless of the industry, the heart of my work lies in cultivating growth, fostering resilience, and championing the development of not just skilled professionals, but compassionate, empathetic, and impactful human beings. Here's to embracing the journey, embracing change, and embracing the opportunity to make a meaningful difference, wherever it may lead. #TeamEmpowerment #ProfessionalGrowth #JourneyOn
