Did you know 30% of emissions originate from hard-to-abate industries? Join us next week to learn about emerging #CCUS solutions. Hear William Lese, Managing Partner at Braemar Energy Ventures; Erika Chan, Head of Sustainability at United States Steel Corporation; and Martin Keighley, CEO of CarbonFree on Wednesday, June 26th at our webinar “Decarbonizing Heavy Industry: U. S. Steel and CarbonFree Share Best Practices for Reducing Emissions through Carbon Capture and Utilization.” In this free webinar, our panel will address: · Challenges and solutions for #hardtoabate industries to #decarbonize, including regulatory hurdles and adoption of carbon capture technologies. · Strategies for replicating successful partnerships like CarbonFree and U. S. Steel’s to mitigate environmental impact. · The role and potential of #CarbonCaptureandUtilization (CCUS) in reducing Scope 3 emissions and achieving decarbonization goals. Though the CarbonKerma marketplace will accept and list all carbon sequestration methods that comply with strict MRV requirements, Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (#CCUS) is a far more cost-effective way to reduce our emissions than Direct Air Capture (#DAC) and should be attracting more attention and more capital. Hear our CEO & Founder Irfan Ali explain why.

📢 We’re thrilled to announce our new #carbonremovals deal. Karbon-X will purchase 25,000 metric tonnes worth of #BECCS-derived carbon removals credits at $350 per tonne, which: 🌱 Will allow individuals and organizations to achieve their own emissions reduction targets by purchasing the credits from Karbon-X on the voluntary carbon market. 🏗️ Represents another major step toward Drax delivering BECCS in the United States. Really exciting news as we progress with our BECCS projects. When I look back not long ago, engineered carbon removals were not a hot topic when speaking to corporates. Now as we approach 2030, with many companies having committed to push their decarbonization further, CDRs are having another position in the market. There is still a lot of work to do in creating awareness and educating companies about the importance to add removals on to their mid to long term strategy. However, it's exciting to see that companies have started to understand it. Sometimes I catch myself repeating some of the IPCC forecasts and analyses over and over so I thought, why not again? 😁 "By 2050, up to 9.5 billion tonnes of CDRs will be required per year to keep our climate stable". "By 2030, we will need around 328 million tonnes of CDRs" Now a question: do you know how many CDRs are forecasted (projects announced) to be issued by 2030? Welldone Karbon-X, Claire Lodge and everyone involved.

These critical Carbon Capture infrastructure studies and projects are key to protecting our global climate. It's exciting to see the vision for large strategic investment as well as funding traction both in Europe and the US. The excelleration is needed in addition to electrifying our infrastructure.

📢 Yesterday, the CCSA’s EU Director Joop Hazenberg participated in the Clean Transition Dialogue on European Green Deal Infrastructure at the European Commission, hosted by Executive Vice-President for the European Green Deal, Maroš Šefčovič. Some of the key points of his speech 👇 🔹The importance of having certainty of local deployment of carbon capture required for rapid development of CO₂ infrastructures. 🔹Support needs to be available and visible to all industry sites that need it to enable strategic network planning. 🔹Enabling the development of a revenue model for CO₂ transport infrastructure. 🔹The need for a CO₂ transport and storage regulation that should focus on interoperability and cross-border issues. 🔹Investing in CO₂ pipelines and associated infrastructure will allow the decarbonization of hard-to-abate sectors, such as cement and lime. 🔹Relevance of a European-wide CO₂ market, which is the most efficient solution to drive down costs for both emitters and storage parties. #CCUS | #CarbonCapture | #NetZero

What a week (once again)! Met Commission Vice-President Sefcovicfor the second time for a high-level dialogue on infrastructure for the European Green Deal (amongst others grids and pipes, more important than one thinks). A Europe-wide CO2 transport network is vital for Europe’s industry to clean up and stay competitive.
