🏳️🌈 Open For Business Day - workshops & discussions on LGBT+ inclusion, with Google, Standard Chartered, PwC and ABB as partners 🤝 Last Friday’s event gave a space for people from the business side (CEOs, HR, DEI, rainbow network members) & NGOs to interact and learn from each other. 👂It was great to listen to you Anna Urbanska, Jamie Pizzorno, Joanna Pastor, Marco Greco, Łukasz Antkiewicz, Maciej Korus, Hubert Sobecki. 🗣️ I had a pleasure to moderate a panel on 👉 How inclusive businesses drive an inclusive society 👈. Thanks for sharing your best practices and journeys! 🔴 Joanna Obstoj - Director of Engineering & Pride Sponsor, Google – spoke about how companies create safe spaces for LGBT+ people to come out and be their authentic selves, also sharing her own personal story in this respect. Google was one of the pioneers in Poland in creating a rainbow network. 🔴 Marta Dąbrowska - Counsel and Coordinator of PwC Shine, PwC Poland – creating LGBT+ ERGs (Employee Resource Groups) is a process requiring support from top management and people who want to engage. It’s a process and takes time. Start small but do start! 🔴 Patryk Madaj - Human Resources Director, ABB Poland – their activities in this field started a few years ago and a lot of positive initiatives have been launched. It is easier to drive DE&I from the position of a service center in a large city, it is a bit different when done also in a manufacturing plan. Challenges are opportunities. 🔴 Ela Bonda (she/her) 🇺🇦✌🏻- Head of DEI and Productivity, Natwest Poland – the number of different benefits and initiatives available to emplyees in Natwest is impressive. The LGBT+ Awards they created honoring business organizations and people engaged in Poland are a true legacy. We also spoke about what companies & their people are doing beyond their own walls, how they influence the broader society. A few notable initiatives: ✅ The Letter of Support for LGBTQ+ People signed by 30 business leaders in Forbes Women Polska in 2023. Initative driven by LGBTQ+ Network of Networks, Open for Business and Kampania Przeciw Homofobii ✅ „Safe Havens” publication by Stowarzyszenie Miłość Nie Wyklucza / Love Does Not Exclude Association, Skanska and other companies showcasing 14 different LGBT+ employee networks in Poland And initiatives where companies are engaging in introducing basic human rights on a societal level: ✅ Ireland – Letter to the broader society signed by bsuinesses and urging voters to choose “yes” in the referendum about marriage equality ✅ Czechia - Letter to the prime minister signed by more than 60 companies urging him to sign marriage equality into law ✅ Poland – the time will soon come when we will need businesses to step up also in our country Great to see such a good turnout and have the chance to speak Jonathan Bury, Marta Jabłońska, Marcin Kilinski, Katarzyna Wiśniewska, Rafal Dembe (he/him), Aleksandra Brojek, Dagmara Popielarczyk & others.
