Cheers to the US Army on 249 years of defending our nation and protecting our freedom. The core characteristics of selfless service, honor, and sacrifice that formed that Army in 1775 still embody soldiers today. Happy Birthday and Go Army! #Thiswelldefend #AlwaysEvolving #BeAllYouCanBe

"A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan executed next week" - General George S. Patton, US Army, WWII As this says, certainly an executed average plan is better than a perfect (seemingly!) plan which is never executed & tested. #planning #agileplanning

Victory and defeat are products of the mind. You only lose when you give up. You cannot lose in the mind and win in life. You cannot win in your mind and lose in life. The state of your mind is critical in a battle, in a contest or in a challenge. Army commanders are often not the best of soldiers but they have a mind and determination different from others. The state of our mind determines the state of our lives. To be successful this month, requires you to work on your mind through reading, through exposing your mind to information and many more.. #mindshift #victory #commanders #thetrailblazers

History in 60 Seconds: What do you know about Roman Legions? The Roman legion was the backbone of the powerful Roman army for centuries. Here's a breakdown of some key points: 1) Elite Infantry: For most of the Roman Empire's history, legions were the elite heavy infantry of the Roman army. 2) Citizen Soldiers: Early legions were composed entirely of Roman citizens. After reforms by Marius in 107 BC, citizenship wasn't a requirement, but it remained a prestigious role. 3) Size and Organization: The size of legions varied over time, but typically consisted of around 5,200 men during the height of the Empire. They were structured into smaller units called cohorts, centuries, and contubernia. For comparison, a US Army brigade consists of a few battalions and anywhere from 3,000 to 5,000 soldiers. A colonel is generally in command. Video: Historic Vids

Lieutenant General Simon Stuart AO DSC: It is one thing to sit at the Royal Commission table expressing apologies and assurances, and stating a commitment “…to doing something about it”. What exactly does this commitment look like? Are you committed to meeting with former serving Veterans and their families whose lives have been scarred by these failures? Will you take concrete steps to provide positive and tangible outcomes for those who have been impacted by the mistreatment within Defence?
The Chief of the Australian Army, Lieutenant General Simon Stuart AO DSC, has appeared at the Royal Commission’s final hearing in Sydney today, giving an assurance that he “owns” the problem of military suicide and is “committed to doing something about it”. General Stuart has acknowledged the significance of the inquiry and thanked those with lived experience of suicide and suicidality for their courage in coming forward and sharing their stories. He’s told the Royal Commission that the Army’s prioritisation of its people is “axiomatic” – and offered an unreserved and sincere apology to those in its ranks who it’s failed. #DVSRC
