Kudos to the Dallas Abilities Expo. Video memories and takeaways from last year's event: Glory to God for the awe-inspiring resilience of incredible people, gracefully adapting to life's challenges. Their shining futures prove that strength knows no bounds. Explored Old and new courthouses, yet the missing places in between puzzle us. Most times, there's a mind-boggling lack of adaptive solutions for those systematically excluded. From climbing walls to adaptive Santa sleighs, every innovation echoes inclusivity and empowerment. Albert Pruitt, overcoming a wheelchair after a motorcycle accident, founded a company crafting adaptive water skis. Mark Wellman, in a wheelchair post-rock climbing accident, pioneered an adaptive rock climbing wall. These stories embody the power of adaptation. In a world where conventional family law has barriers, the stories of CLU "champions for children" stand as powerful beacons for innocent People. Madison and Chris faced the 'Continuance Confusion,' yet "Madison's Initiative" and "Madison's Time-Saver" brought a comforting embrace. Aron and Alayna navigated the 'Phone Time Predicament,' and "Alayna's Call Saver" sparked a profound shift, turning frustration into connection. Amidst these adaptive narratives, Ellie's story adds warmth, transcending distance through a book entitled Elizabithia her dad wrote for her and her brother. Corey and Christian, separated by fences or jurisdictional jigsaw puzzles, had a book entitled A Light in the Dark penned for them, bridging divides. These new narratives echo innovation and empathy in family law gaps, highlighting the need for compassion and connection. Now, a heartfelt question: How can our online Christian community support those navigating tough marriages or family trials? Last plug for my session at the Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC) conference next week (Friday, 9:30AM). We will be playing EDC trivia and here is your chance to prepare 🙋♀️ How many EDCs are in Texas? True/False: Most EDCs are in metropolitan areas. Which metro area has the greatest number of EDCs? True/False: Most TX cities have an EDC. True/False: Most TX counties have at least one EDC city. True/False: Most TX residents live in EDC cities. What % of EDCs report job creation/retention as an objective? We will also discuss how EDC assets (e.g., land) and objectives have changed over time, how perceptions of EDC spending on incentives compare to how much EDCs are actually spending (in addition to what else they are funding), and what EDCs collectively have on hand to invest in future economic development projects (spoiler: it ends with a 'b'). Finally, we'll give out a few awards for 2023 performance to fuel bragging rights among attendees, not that Texans enjoy that sort of thing. Hope to see you there.

How's Kansas identifying anchors in need of gigabit-level connectivity for their five-year BEAD plan? Many states are reimagining the concept of anchors, extending beyond NTIA's traditional definition to encompass non-traditional institutions eligible for BEAD funding. Kansas eagerly embraces this challenge, recognizing all vital community components as eligible anchors. 🌆💡 Their approach? Expanding the definition to new horizons. For instance, if a retail spot has an attached pharmacy, it gets the anchor status! To pinpoint these crucial locations, Kansas conducted extensive outreach to partners, collaborating with state agencies, ISPs, and consulting with Tribes. But here's the twist - the citizens played a pivotal role! 🙋♂️🙋♀️ By asking questions like "Where do you conduct business?" and "How does the community gather?" individuals shaped the definition of important locations, yielding wonderfully diverse results. 🤝🏛️ So, here's a question for you: If you were asked to identify an anchor in your community, what would you say?
