today in #thegloballeadership I searched "How to advance in cosmetology." #cosmetology is a very trend based career. social media has become a big way to keep up with trends and be apart of the people making those trends happen. Being on social media is a good way to advance my #career as a cosmetologist. Creating my brand on social media and creating a platform to share my work can help boost my career. Another big thing in #cosmetology is mastering and specializing in a skill, like color, blonding, extensions, nails or makeup. mastering any of these skills will bring long time clients that can rely on your services. If I learn to specialized skill I will not only boost my career but also be able to teach and boost someone else's career. That leads to my final point. Teaching people will allow me to #network with more people. The people I teach will tell other people about my classes or services and in turn I'll gain another client or student. There are many ways I can excel in my career as a #cosmetologist. https://lnkd.in/eAbR-PVg.

It’s #WorkingWomenWednesday! This week we’re featuring Yanet Mendoza! Take a second to read about her path as a Cosmetologist! - My name is Yanet Mendoza! I just opened up my salon, Refine Studio. - I have been a licensed cosmetologist since 2017. This year I decided to make a change and open up a salon. Here at Refine Studio we offer a wide variety of services that include mens and women’s cuts, waxing, body sculpting, eyebrow lamination, facials, manicures, makeup and hair for special occasions. One of the favorite things about my job is that I have a flexibility to make my own schedule and be there for my kids. Another thing I love about my job is that I have the ability to make others feel more confident with themselves! - I’ve always had a passion for doing hair and all things beauty. Initially, I wasn’t sure what career path I wanted to take, until I considered cosmetology courses. I immediately loved it, and found that I enjoyed men’s cuts, facials, waxing and women’s cuts! Now that I’ve been in the business for a little over 6 years, my love for the career has only grown. I am so grateful for my amazing clients who have stuck with me throughout all of these years! - It means everything to me, I truly believe that God blessed me with this opportunity to not only provide for myself and my children, but also to help others. My job entails much more than simply doing hair; the conversations I have with my clients daily who confide in me and allow me to offer them advice means so much to me. Watching my young clients grow and develop comfort with me is one of the most fulfilling feelings. Overall, I have met the most amazing people in this career and it has been the biggest blessing. - I want other women in business to know the importance of working hard and chasing their dreams, it is never too late! I also want women to know that their past does not define them and it should never hold them back – use it as motivation to work even harder. - My advice to other women is to first and foremost, work hard always. Always remember the importance of a strong work ethic as it is the most important trait that you can have as you venture through your career. I also want to encourage women to build a strong professional network, and never be afraid to reach out to other individuals. Networking has made the biggest difference for me! - You can reach me at Refine Studio. Additionally you can reach out to me via phone: 432-385-9381 Address: 412 W 10th, Suite C You can also connect me through Instagram: • @_refine_studio • @_yanet.kutz • @ bodysculptingbyyanet - #womensupportingwomen #womeninbusiness #womenempowerment #txcosmetologist #villarrealinsurance

I like to practice what I preach. As an educator working in the salon, with clients is essential. I teach stylists salon friendly techniques, that improve their work in salon within commercial time frames. Which would be impossible if I didn’t work that way myself. One day a week in salon, averaging 10 haircuts a day, keeping it real. #hair #haircut #haircutting #haireducation #haircuttutorial #haircuttingvideo #haircuttingeducation #haircuttingvideo #haircuttingclass #haircuttingeducation #haircuttingtutorials #haircuttingtechniques #cutwithconfidence

3rd Anniversary 🥳🥳🥳 This year will make it 3years since I officially made Hair Grooming (caring, growing and styling) one of my main skills. The journey has been an exciting one 😄, I went from having imposter syndrome to gaining confidence, from undercharging because I did not understand my worth to carefully creating a price list and confidently charging my worth. A major turning point? Truth be told I just kept moving and the hunger for personal growth and the zeal to see my business thrive had made me stay on track. I was able to sign up for training (National and international) and join different hair academies to help I stay updated in my niche. One sentence that helped me keep moving was "Do it Afraid" This was the sentence my sister encouraged me with when I was just starting. A few things that helped me stand out in my niche are; 💫 Personal Branding: With my graphics design, video editing and content creation skills, I was able to build a style unique to me. 💫 Creating a community- I did this so I could share tips on how to care for and groom one's hair we are over 70 in the community and on different platforms, and this helps Natural hair girlies have people they can interact with and have connections with by sharing their hair growth journey. I am on this platform to see myself grow, soar and excel but consistency is one thing I keep learning everything the ability to show up whether you like it or not. Now share with me one of your biggest challenges on LinkedIn and let's see how to tackle it 😉 _____ Seeing me for the First Time I am Fasanmi Abigail The Ah-mazing Nursepreneur (TAN) #21dayslinkedintourwithtomide #thrivewithtomide #consistency #day2

When teaching stylists I like to break haircuts down into simple, digestible chunks. It makes them simple and easy to understand and allows the stylists to follow within the session and repeatable in salon working with their clients. I achieve this by getting the students in all of my workshop based sessions to work section by section through their haircuts. I demonstrate a section and then the stylists repeat the process. #hair #haircut #haircutting #haireducation #haircuttutorial #haircuttingvideo #haircuttingeducation #haircuttingvideo #haircuttingclass #haircuttingeducation #haircuttingtutorials #haircuttingtechniques #cutwithconfidence

My education is designed to improve the small details of your work. These small incremental changes have profound effects on the results of your work and your confidence. The key is that you can take the skills learnt, use them straight away in the salon, and work more confidently day after day. #hair #haircut #haircutting #haireducation #haircuttutorial #haircuttingvideo #haircuttingeducation #haircuttingvideo #haircuttingclass #haircuttingeducation #haircuttingtutorials #haircuttingtechniques #cutwithconfidence

No I am not saying you should stop sectioning your haircuts. Stop over complicating your sectioning and wasting time. I’ve seen hundreds of educators sectioning the hair into 7,8,9,10 zones and spend 25 minutes sectioning the hair. I know it serves a purpose and there are reasons for it but it isn’t commercial or salon friendly!! Haircutting education should be practical and relatable to salon life. #hair #haircut #haircutting #haireducation #haircuttutorial #haircuttingvideo #haircuttingeducation #haircuttingvideo #haircuttingclass #haircuttingeducation #haircuttingtutorials #haircuttingtechniques #cutwithconfidence
