In Bilbao we will be highlighting the #resilience of the European #energy system and the role of robust supply chains in the #wind industry; therefor fair competition and common standards are absolutely essential! Let's meet! *Hardware matters!* VDMA WindEurope
Join us at the WindEurope Annual Event 2024 in Bilbao! VDMA Power Systems is happy to announce the participation in the upcoming WindEurope Annual Event, happening from 20 -22 March in Bilbao, Spain. We are eager to engage with industry experts and political stakeholders to delve into crucial discussions surrounding a resilient supply chain in Europe for both onshore and offshore wind energy. Our team will be hosting various insightful events where we will present and exchange ideas on enhancing the resilience of the wind industry in Europe. This is an outstanding opportunity to network and gain valuable insights into the wind industry. Make sure to mark your calendars and join our colleagues Dr. Dennis Rendschmidt, Malte Peters and Katja Hackelberg for stimulating discussions, either at one of the VDMA events ➡ https://lnkd.in/eTcbERBe or on our stand at the German Pavilion ➡ https://lnkd.in/eqrdWgqc See you there! #onshore #offshore #WindEnergy #Resilience #Sustainability #ResilientSupplyChain #RenewableEnergy #WindEurope2024 #Bilbao #VDMA

Yesterday, together with my dear colleague Tim Meyerjürgens I had the honor to participate at a high-level event on offshore energy ‘Delivering offshore energy to all’ organized by the Belgian Presidency of the Council 2024 @eu2024be in Bruges. Here relevant offshore stakeholders, representatives from 27 EU national ministries and the European Commission met, addressing existing barriers and identifying opportunities for the development of offshore renewables and the connection to onshore consumption centres. It was an excellent opportunity to be able to share our insights and recommendations for financing, market design and supply chain for offshore grid infrastructure, which were outlined in our latest expert paper 'Unlocking the Potential of the North Seas', a collaboration with eleven TSOs from nine #NorthSea countries. Great that most representatives from those TSOs were also able to join the high-level event on offshore energy 50Hertz Transmission GmbH Amprion GmbH Creos Luxembourg EirGrid Group Elia Energinet Gasunie National Grid RTE Statnett SF Read the paper: https://lnkd.in/eWg6sueT From a personal perspective, I really cherish such events as they bring together the relevant players of the offshore value chain, strengthen the relationship with each other and foster collaboration amongst each other’s. Thanks a lot, Tinne Van der Straeten and your team for organizing this wonderful event and for keeping the momentum for offshore renewable energy and competitiveness in Europe. #offshore #renewablenergy #NorthSea #offshorewind

🆕 On the final plenary session of the 2019-2024 mandate, the European Parliament approved the Net-Zero Industry Act (NZIA). 🌊 This legislation recognises #osmoticenergy as a renewable energy source eligible for the support that the NZIA will provide, as well as the provisions through the Strategic Technologies for Europe Platform (STEP). ⚡ The European Union wants the best possible technologies to support a carbon-neutral, clean and competitive future. Osmotic energy will be key to reach this ambition! 🤝 @Christian Ehler Christophe Grudler MEP SaltPower REDstack BV Sweetch Energy EDF CNR (Compagnie Nationale du Rhône)

🌬 🤝 Good news for #windenergy “made in Europe”: Today the Energy ministers of 26 EU Member States and more than 300 companies from the wind energy sector signed the #EuropeanWindCharter. Ramboll is proudly supporting the initiative. With this charter, the Member States commit to deliver on the actions ascribed to them under the #WindPowerPackage which was published in October. The actions that have been agreed on affect permitting, finance and auctions and will help strengthen the European wind industry. In January, TotalEnergies signed an agreement with SONFOR and European Energy to purchase 72 per cent of the shares in the project company Lillebælt Vind A/S. The deal first must obtain approvals from the authorities before the ownership formally takes effect, which is expected in the third quarter of 2024. https://lnkd.in/e4fYTbZ2 #energy #utilities #windpower #offshorewind #renewableenergy

Noordzeker and Zeevonk II win permits for the largest Dutch wind farms to date. They will build 2 wind farms in IJmuiden Ver which, combined, will meet 14% of current electricity consumption in the Netherlands. Noordzeker (a consortium of ABP, APG and SSE Renewables) focuses for IJmuiden Ver Site Alpha on protecting and strenghtening nature in the North Sea. For Zeevonk II (a joint venture of Vattenfall and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners) the emphasis for Site Beta is on better integration of the power generated into the Dutch energy system. Positive progress for sustainable energy generation and innovation. Job well done for everyone being working on these tenders! https://lnkd.in/eEyfsg7X #offshorewind #windopzee

Great that we have arrived at this point with osmotic energy as a net zero technology in EU. We need all the green energy we can produce to make the energy transition happen.
