My paper focused on :Public Diplomacy in Non- Democratic regimes, f Public diplomacy is crucial in international relations and has a centuries-old history. Its significance is evident, especially in non-democratic regimes, where it facilitates interaction among states, civil societies, and organizations. Scholars raise concerns about transparency, freedom of expression, and the potential for propaganda to distort information and hinder the promotion of rights. This study delves into cases such as China, Russia, Iran, and other nations, examining how they navigate public diplomacy to advance their national interests. Also, it highlights the efforts of countries under democratic regimes, like the U.S.A. to uphold international standards of human rights and freedoms, with ingenuity, persistence, and strategic thinking to address challenges, ensuring that public diplomacy serves as a conduit for fostering goodwill and reconciliation on a global scale, irrespective of political regime. The adoption of FFPs in Latin America is an opportunity to see how the region reimagines feminist advocacy that is attuned to their local contexts but resonates globally. The emergence of FFPs in Mexico (2020), Chile (2023), and Colombia (announced but not yet published) are the first examples of Latin American countries interpreting feminist policymaking and shaping global governance regimes in this sphere. In these three cases, their FFPs serve as a platform for political and institutional innovation to promote gender-focused policies in multiple areas, including diplomacy, the design of budgets, multilateral negotiations, international trade, regional cooperation, and mediation processes. Understanding how these countries are approaching FFPs may provide insight into the role of Latin America, and the Global South more broadly, in guiding the transformation toward a more just multilateral system. Glad to see that the co-director of our Competence Centre for International Academic Collaborations (KIWi) is selected as a member of the European Commission‘s Science Diplomacy Working Group, tasked to develop potential elements of a future European Framework for Science Diplomacy. 🌊 Introducing the All-Atlantic Ocean Research and Innovation Alliance! 🌎 🌍 The All-Atlantic Ocean Research and Innovation Alliance (AAORIA) is a groundbreaking science diplomacy effort including countries from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, spanning from pole to pole. ✏ AAORIA is built on the solid foundation of the Galway Statement, signed by the European Union, the United States, and Canada in 2013, and the Belem Statement, signed by the European Union, Brazil, and South Africa in 2017. These agreements set the stage for enhanced marine research and innovation cooperation, laying the groundwork for AAORIA's comprehensive mission. Currently, the Alliance's members are: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Cape Verde, the European Union, Morocco, South-Africa and the United States. 🖋 With the signing of the All-Atlantic Declaration in 2022, the Alliance aims to revitalize and coordinate ongoing efforts among the Galway Working Groups, All-Atlantic Joint Pilot Actions and other related projects.
