Creating rain gardens in our urban and suburban landscapes is one way we can reduce surface flooding in our cities, towns and schools. When SuDS and green infrastracture is integrated into the early masterplanning stages of a project, costs can remain neutral. By integrating the skillsets of landscape architects and water engineers from the beginning, beautiful things can happen! Read our case study on our project Liverpool Rain Garden which illustrates the benefits of water management in urban centres: https://lnkd.in/eN2a_hKS

Here's a section cut slicing the historic Baltimore ice factory we scanned a few months ago. It's the three-story portion at the south end of the industrial plant originally built in 1905. According to the Historic-Structures.com website, this area "featured the engine room on the first floor and filters on the second floor, third floor and roof. The Sanborn map indicates elevator motors at the southern end where equipment for hoisting large blocks of ice was likely to be located." This part of our as-built documentation of the Lalibela project for PI.KL Studio who will be reimagining the site as a home for technology, culture, community, film and television production. #historicpreservation #historicarchitecture #adaptivereuse #heritagebuildings #historicrenovation #redevelopment #adaptivereusearchitecture #historic #historical #historicbuildings #historicbuilding #abandonedplaces #abandonedbuilding #abandonedbuildings #abandonedfactory #oldfactory #oldfactories #oldfactorybuilding #architecture #architect #architecturelovers #architecturedesign #brick #redbrick #baltimore #baltimorecity #baltimoreart #baltimorearchitecture #filmproduction
