Thrilled to Share Our Experience at Colorado Aerospace Day 2024! Rockwood Equity Partners' Nils Holum had the privilege of attending the esteemed Colorado Aerospace Day, a remarkable event hosted at the Colorado State Capitol. Colorado Aerospace Day 2024 was not just an event; it was a confluence of vision, innovation, and strategic partnerships. Rockwood's participation is a reflection of our enduring commitment to the aerospace and defense industry, and our enthusiasm for contributing to its growth and evolution. Colorado Aerospace Day is an annual event for Rockwood for a few reasons: 1. Colorado's Industry Leadership: With Colorado ranking as the 2nd largest aerospace industry in the country per the Colorado Space Coalition*, Colorado is at the forefront of aerospace innovation. Our presence at the event underscores our commitment to fostering growth and innovation in our dynamic region. Check out CWES and NG. 2. A Legacy of Investment in Aerospace and Defense: Since our first investment, Rockwood has been a dedicated investor in the aerospace and defense sectors for the past 25 years. The Colorado Aerospace Day provided an invaluable opportunity for us to engage with both established giants and groundbreaking entrepreneurial ventures in the aerospace sector. This mix of stability and innovation mirrors our investment philosophy, which values both tradition and forward-thinking. 3. A Convergence of Visionaries: The event brought together a diverse group of participants, including the Colorado Business Roundtable, the Aerospace States' Association, the Colorado Space Coalition, AIAA Rocky Mountain Section, and the Colorado Space Business Roundtable, among others. For Rockwood, it was an unparalleled chance to network with like-minded organizations and individuals who are equally passionate about advancing aerospace and defense. The discussions and connections forged here will help shape our strategies and partnerships moving forward. Meet Otis Eads, a transfer student and SPS Ambassador from the University of Alaska Anchorage! His journey in CLA and HC has yielded equal returns for his efforts. Reflecting on his experience as a transfer student, Otis admits, "At first, I was intimidated by the HC, because I was skeptical of my ability to succeed in honors courses. But I realized after connecting with HC students that this was perfect for me. I know now that the courses are designed to make learning easier, and I have enjoyed getting to know professors and my peers in the HC." Discover more about Otis's academic journey: beav.es/qCM

Strategic Operations Executive Focused on Execution | Managed over $500M in IT programs | COO, President/Senior Vice President/Vice President/Director of Operations | Strategic Business Thinker/Visionary | MBA/PMP/ITIL
Great programs for any middle/high school students interested in USNA. You get to spend a week with world-class faculty, some of the best and brightest college students in the country and take in the beautiful campus in full summer bloom. As a BGO, I always encounter a candidate who assumes that not getting selected for these programs is indicative of their chances for appointment. That is not the case! There are only so many slots available and limited, fixed windows to run these programs. Don’t be discouraged if you aren’t selected for a summer program. Your academic, athletic and civic resume will be the primary measures for earning your an appointment. And thst is only part of it. You must secure a nomination and pass all medical requirements. I say all this to encourage you to focus on the goal and meet each challenge as they come. Not every journey is the same. One of my favorite candidates are those that weren’t accepted but reapply the following year while completing their freshman year of college. That sort of drive and commitment to earning an appointment resonates with me (and I’m sure other alumni). That grit demonstrates you have the will to keep pressing on… an attribute that is far more indicative of success than other common metrics.
It's Summer STEM and Summer Seminar Season! Applications are now open for these two June 2024 programs. Great wisdom shared by Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian at the Georgia Tech Spring 2024 Commencement. This is one of the very best commencement speeches I’ve ever heard! Ed was also bestowed with an Honorary Degree from Georgia Tech. Congratulations, Ed! Here are just a few of many highlights from Ed's speech: ➡ 📢 The Importance of Values and Actions: “Your actions will speak louder than any new business pitch or innovative technology breakthrough you may be contemplating. It is the values many of you learned first from your families… ‘” ➡ The Power of Inner Confidence & Humility: “Confidence is strengthened by telling yourself that it is OK to fail. I have found more life and career lessons in failure, than I have had in success. The measure of a man is not how he basks in victory, but rather how he handles defeat. That is where true character is revealed. …” ➡🤝 The Value of Teamwork - As the oldest of nine children, Ed learned the vital importance of teamwork. ➡ 👐 Living a Life of Service: “Life is Enriched by Living a Life of Service. Service to your family, employees, coworkers, service to customers, service to your community, and service to your team. We were not put on this earth to be takers, to be of service primarily to ourselves. We find our greatest rewards by assisting others to realize their opportunities, their potential. To be of service to them. It is that simple concept that sits at the core of the success of Delta Air Lines….” Watch Ed's commencement speech here - (He's introduced at 1:16:11) https://lnkd.in/giUSV555 #CommencementSpeech #ValuesLeadership #Delta #EdBastian #GeorgiaTech #GreatestLeadershipTips #Leadership #KeepClimbing

One of the best phrases I've seen or heard about the value of CTE is "incremental steps with real-time workforce relevance", which I learned from the most recent CAEL "Intersect with Earl" update. The final leg of your career journey will be happier if you focus on preparing for the next leg.
