The Journal of Patient-Centered Research and Reviews (JPCRR), published by Advocate Aurora Research Institute, recently celebrated its 10-year anniversary and surpassed 400,000 article downloads since its inception. The quarterly peer-reviewed journal publishes cutting-edge articles focused on patient-centered clinical and laboratory research, patient experiences, and best practices in clinical care and medical education. Congratulations on reaching this 10-year milestone, JPCRR!

Everyone who knows Kathryn Mayworm, Nurse of the Year at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, knows this OB-GYN nurse is a collaborative team player, an expert clinician, a true leader and a tireless, compassionate advocate for patients and coworkers. As the world prepares for the 2024 Paris Olympics, Advocate Children’s Hospital is proud to introduce the tiniest and most adorable members of Team USA. 🏅🇺🇸 Small but mighty, these little champions have already overcome so many hurdles in their first few weeks and months of life. The Advocate Children’s Hospital team has awarded them gold medals for resilience, bravery and cuteness. With their go-for-the-gold mindset, we may just see them on the big Olympic stage someday.

In partnership with the Chicago Cubs, we brought a bit of the ballpark to Advocate Children’s Hospital in Park Ridge! Third baseman, Miles Mastrobuoni, spent time getting to know our patients and delivered baseball caps that he signed during his visit. Thanks for stopping bye to brighten the day! 💙

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TEDDY! Teddy was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) in August 2022, about a month after his 11th birthday. His diagnosis came as a shock and it was a learning curve for Teddy and his parents. Today, Teddy is independent when it comes to managing his T1D and wears a glucose monitor and insulin pump to help him manage it. He’s determined to not let T1D stop him from doing the things he loves, including playing baseball. Teddy plays on both local and travel baseball teams and has a dream of making it to the MLB someday. Teddy spent time as the Chicago Cubs Honorary Bat Kid to help kick off celebrations for his 13th birthday ⚾️🎂🎈💙
