This has been an active hurricane season in the Atlantic so far. Hurricanes can cause extensive damage to homes and property. Preparation measures like securing windows, reinforcing roofs, and elevating valuables can help minimize losses. Prepared individuals and businesses contribute to community resilience. A community that is collectively prepared can respond more effectively, help each other, and recover faster after a hurricane. Be sure to reach out to ACR if you've found your business facing destruction. #hurricanedamage #waterdamage #moldremediation

According to Redfin’s findings, the number of Americans who moved into disaster-prone areas in 2021 and 2022 vastly outnumbered those who moved out of those areas. For example, in the areas most prone to flooding, Redfin determined around 400,000 more people were moving in than moving out, a 103% increase from 2019 and 2020. Areas vulnerable to fires had a net influx of 446,000 people (an increase of 51%), and those suffering extreme heat swelled by 629,000 people (an increase of 17%). Lee County, Florida, which was devastated by Hurricane Ian in 2022, gained 60,000 more people than it lost.

US DISASTER RESPONSE [Florida Hurricane] Volunteers needed! We’re currently stationed in the town of Perry, Florida. Assessing the situation in the area is difficult because of the scale of the disaster. A hurricane leaves a similar yet different footprint than a tornado. Different in that it affected the whole town instead of just along one path, but similar in the sense that the damage is the same kind of damage, downed trees fell on houses and are blocking roads. Some roofs have blown off, but not as intense as a tornado. The scale of it all is mind-boggling and hard to comprehend, because it affects the whole town and this is just one town of many. Right now, the biggest need is for chainsaws and skidsteers, as well as manpower to tarp roofs. The project is open for volunteers! Click on the link below to sign up to volunteer with us in Florida. https://lnkd.in/eCCppvHX If you’d like to help but can’t volunteer, consider donating to the work there. All funds will be used to help the people who have been affected by the hurricane. https://lnkd.in/eD3HDjNi #USDisasterResponse #PCCR #Hope #Disastercleanup #HurricaneIdelia
