Hiring managers often lean towards candidates who exactly mirror a job description, particularly favoring those with 2-3 years of identical role experience. Is it possible to be too experienced? Or Is this good client value? When people discuss delivery with me they are usually impressed with the sheer volume of cool projects I’ve worked on….., but to me it’s a passion and my job. If someone loves delivery please stop telling them “you can do this job standing on you head. Or even more patronising “you’ll get bored” I love delivery management, always hard valence, challenging, and satisfying to get right first time! Hire experienced delivery people, saves you learning lessons all the time, increases repeat business and margin by doing a great job!
