🤓 You know I AM THE metrics-first marketer BUT... 🤓 Have you heard of the Goodhart's Law? Goodhart's Law states "When a measure becomes a target, it ceases to be a good measure." In marketing, this means that if we're not careful, we can incentivise the wrong behaviours by focusing on the wrong metrics. Meaningful measurements that will be harder (not impossible) to manipulate might be: 1️⃣ Conversion Rate: It's not about how many people see your ad; it's about how many take the desired action. Focus on converting prospects into customers. 2️⃣ Customer Lifetime Value (CLV): Building long-term relationships should be the goal.
