For Gen Z, it’s no longer enough to just have a job. The right job must have key characteristics, one of which is a strong distinction between work and life. Don’t assume that their always-on nature from social media transfers to work as well. Gen Z managers understand this. They recognize the importance of a work-life balance and how to navigate deliverables and productivity so that both can coexist. Our Social and Community Lead, Raven Baker, spoke with Business Insider about why this is important: "I never want to be the kind of leader who's the catalyst for someone's inner monologue shifting from 'I am capable, I have great ideas' to 'Am I capable? Am I good enough?'" Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/ggsnNdtr If you haven't read the article yet, bookmark this post! 📌 Follow us for more Gen Z trends and insights.

What are your insights on the importance of a people-focused workplace? Was there a specific experience which led to that realization? ▪️Realizing how true this statement is took time and experience. It was something my father always said when I would watch him speak at corporate events. As a young kid, I always thought it was “lame” scripted corporate lingo to boost relations across the workforce. Only with time and experience did I realize the truth and genuineness of this statement. •👨🏾💼⌚️💡• ▪️We are human we make mistakes and have our moments. We are all faced with the stress and fatigue that results from pushing for growth and CI, and it is easy for us to justify not making time to foster relationships. •💵⌛️📉• ▪️The most successful years I have experienced directly correlate to the strength of the relationships across the team delivering those results. •🤔💭📈• ▪️My learning has been that, we all need to make a conscious effort to do our part in facilitating a culture that empathizes and connects with our colleagues on a human level. Those connections are the building blocks upon which success is acheieved. •🤜🏽🤛🏽🖤• Unfortunately, I also learned that once again “pops was right!” 😂🤦🏾♂️😁

"𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗴𝗼 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱𝗻'𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲." – 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘁𝘆 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 This inspiring quote reminds me of a powerful concept from Marcus Buckingham's book "Love + Work." According to Mayo Clinic research, spending just 20% of our time at work doing activities we love significantly reduces the risk of burnout. On the other hand, Gallup research highlights the importance of career well-being as the foundation for overall well-being. It's the first of the five essential elements, followed by social, financial, physical, and community well-being. 💥 With career well-being leading the way, what we do everyday matters! A lot! 💥 When we bring to work our "hearts," our native talents and strengths, along with our skills, knowledge, and experiences, we become more engaged, creative, and committed. 🤔 Let's reflect together: What was your best day at work this year? What made it special? Who were you working with, and who were you working for? Do you see a connection between that day and doing what you love, using your talents and strengths? How did it make you feel? If we are in leadership roles, the situation is more complicated. We must create a safe and inclusive environment where people feel encouraged to bring their hearts to work, authenticity is celebrated, and individuals are valued for who they are. But it is worth trying as it has a direct and robust connection with employee engagement and productivity that ultimately translates into organisation's results and profitability. Research shows that what people need from their leaders are: trust, stability, compassion, and hope. All these come from the heart. How else to foster respect, integrity, honesty, transparency, care, show sympathy and help others, or make them feel inspired by the future? And when all these happens, people become more engaged, the speed and efficiency in the workplace increases, productivity and profitability grow.📈 🚀 Together, we can create workplaces where passion, purpose, and performance thrive. ❤️🚀 #WorkWithHeart #EmployeeEngagement #Leadership #WellBeingAtWork

Here's what you might've missed. * We're in a Loneliness Epidemic * We're headed towards a Human Capital Renaissance * Almost 60% of the global workforce is quiet-quitting * Only 23% of the workforce is engaged * $8.8 trillion in productivity lost due to low engagement at work What does all of that mean??? 💡 Due to at-home and hybrid work environments, people are more isolated, with Millennials and Gen Z having it the worst. 💡 It means, the need for "soft skills" is in high demand. 💡 It means in order to stay competitive in the marketplace employees need to develop skills like communication, collaboration, adaptability, and creativity. 💡 It means the need for community in our personal and professional lives is more important than ever. Through Rise@Work's corporate training here in Denver, we've helped over 22,000 people and almost 80 companies develop skills in: Collaboration Communication Adaptability Community Creativity Through companies and individuals we've worked with, we've seen culture and communication at work explode. We believe in the transformative power of improv and experiential learning to change how we work, interact, and communicate. What are you waiting for?!

As a seasoned marketer, I understand the importance of a healthy work environment. That's why I firmly believe that no amount of compensation justifies enduring micromanagement or disrespectful behavior in the workplace. My professional journey has been driven by the pursuit of workplaces where respect, collaboration, and personal well-being are prioritized. I've honed my skills to align with organizations that share these values. I'm curious to hear from others: have you also prioritized a positive work culture in your career decisions?

Show genuine care for each person's well-being. 🌟 Empower Growth: Offer robust development opportunities. Speaker, Author, Consultant | Keynotes, Workshops & Culture Change Work to Ignite Human Leadership in Your Organization 🧡
I don’t think the future looks like job descriptions that we “fit” people to. I think we take people and we design roles around their unique strengths and abilities. Not only will we create a workplace where everyone has the chance to be authentic. We will also have a happier and more engaged team and off-the-charts results. Imagine a team where every single person is working in their strengths? Unstoppable. This is what we do on our team. It requires a lot more intention and collaboration. It requires honest conversations when someone isn’t in a role that they feel fulfilled by. It sometimes means we must love someone out so that they can find a role elsewhere that allows them to live in their superpowers if we can’t offer that role in our organization. But to me, the time, the intention, the conversations, the tough decisions… it’s all worth it. The majority of our workforce is disengaged at work. What’s gotten us to this point is NOT working. We need a different way. Aligning roles to people’s strengths is one step we can take towards building a human organization and a better future. I am so proud of the teams who have the courage to challenge what isn’t working and build more human workplaces 🧡

👥 A positive company culture is the key to attracting and retaining top talent. But what aspects matter most to employees? Let me share a story. 👇 A friend recently joined a new company, excited about their mission and values. But soon, issues like lack of work-life balance, poor leadership, and limited growth opportunities dampened their enthusiasm. In contrast, another friend thrived in a culture that prioritized: 💡 Alignment with the company's purpose 🤝 Supportive and ethical leadership ⚖️ Healthy work-life balance 🌈 Diversity, equity, and inclusion 👩💼 Professional development opportunities 🎉 Recognition and appreciation 🤝 Collaboration and teamwork These factors made them feel valued, motivated, and committed long-term. Like this post if you agree that company culture is crucial! 👍 What aspects of company culture do you prioritize as an employee or leader? Strategic Analytics Manager | Transforming Complex Data into Actionable Strategies for Pharmacy Benefits Management 📈 | Making data your competitive advantage 💡 ✨Do, or do not, there is no try.✨
Happy new year! At the start of each year, I like to set a few intentions and goals to make me a better employee, colleague, leader, and all-around person. 🌟 During the holiday week, or the "limbo" period between Christmas and New Year's Day, I spent a lot of time reflecting on interpersonal dynamics at work. In the modern workplace, five generations of workers means five approaches to work; this makes achieving holistic alignment quite difficult! This year, my commitment to my team and my organization is to be mindful of the needs, motivations, and contexts of my colleagues to activate our individual superpowers to achieve collective results. With such a diverse array of perspectives and skills to tap into, there are limitless ways to approach problem-solving and drive growth. 💭 What are your favored methods for tapping into the unique qualities of the individuals on your team? Does your approach change with regard to generational differences? Source: https://lnkd.in/gKj8X5YS

I get a lot of eye rolls when I talk about the importance of culture. But here are some stats you might want to consider. Gallup and McKinsey are two of my favorite organizations because they depend so strongly on solid research before extending any claims on a forward path. So, with that in mind, take a look at these numbers. When one of your staff can state that they feel connected to your organization’s culture, they are... 3.7 x as likely to be engaged at work 5.2 x as like to recommend their organization as a great place to work 68% less likely to feel burned out at work very often or always 55% less likely to be watching for job opportunities or actively looking for another job Read on.
