Say a SUPER. ‘Hello’ to Gina our new team member We’re excited to announce a new member of team SUPER. - welcome Gina to the team!   Gina joins the agency having recently graduated from fashion communication and promotion, she’ll be working with the team as part of a 6-week internship.    We asked Gina what she’s looking forward to most:  “I am super excited to join the SUPER team to sharpen my marketing skills in a fast-paced industry and collaborate with a team of creative minds who push me to learn new skills. I’m particularly passionate about the emphasis on developing kids' skills through campaigns and pushing for brands to do more in appealing to children.   As a creative, I am looking forward to learning more about how I can come up with ideas to target children! I can’t wait to immerse myself in the marketing world and gain a deeper understanding of how brands are engaging with children through different channels including schools. Reflecting on the first 5 days of my internship as a Social Media Strategist at Vancouver Island University.  It started with an introduction to a great team and mentors. I felt so amazing realizing I would be working beside people who have renowned experience managing marketing activities for VIU for years. And, I see this as an amazing opportunity to learn, learn and learn. 🤗 I had a few meetings with my supervisors where I understood the scope of work and expectations from me. . I then began understanding what is happening in social space for universities!  . What does VIU's digital footprint say? How we've always engaged with students on different social media channels. I analyzed the type of content we post. And, did research on how we are performing.  .  . I also did a lot of background research on what and how our target audience reacts and engages with an organization like ours. I also found a few answers for some of the "Why should we do this?" questions and it was an amazing process to experience.  Lastly, Reflecting on this week, I feel energized and motivated. The learning curve has been steep, but I’ve already gained so much knowledge and experience. I am ready to start next week with clarity on what I need to do the following week.  . And, of course, there were many reasons why he was eventually offered an internship with OtterHalf. My takeaway from this? I'm surprised at how much of an impression a candidate can make on me just by his response to an email inviting him for an interview. There's so much I'm learning about hiring, managing a business, and about myself every day. 💡

We asked Junie Fu, one of our Session 1 marketing interns, a few questions about her experience and aspirations on the Biscuit Beacon team. See her responses below! During session one I was a member of the public affairs team, which primarily dedicated to promoting our website as well as the app. My projects mainly focus on drafting the posts both visual and text. In addition to that, I am also responsible for managing brand accounts on Reddit. 2. What's your favorite part about being on the Biscuit Beacon team? My favorite part about being on the Biscuit Beacon Team is the incredible diversity among our team members, you would be able to learn more about your teammate's culture during the orientation and also get to know each other. 3. What are you most excited about for Session 2? What I'm most excited about Session two is seeing how new members contribute to the products and also want to see of progress that we will make by then!

Today marks the last day of my 8 week internship at The Guardian What a world of office jargons and acronyms! Everyone is so creative with work acronyms, very interesting to encounter and learn. 8 weeks seems like quite a long period but in fact my summer internship has gone by quickly! Of course, entering this internship was nerve-racking, to my understanding, The Guardian is a reputable news and media organisation, so it was definitely a different environment I was entering in. How could I fit in? Or how could I voice my perspective ? So much questions I had before entering this experience. However, to my surprise, I felt comfortable and open to voice my ideas and perspective! I spent my 8 week internship alongside the Advertising department, each week I had the opportunity to work with different teams. In summary: Week 1: Dived into agency relationships - exploring our media agency partners and the brands eager to advertise with the Guardian. Week 2: Uncovered commercial insights - gaining profound insights into the Guardian's audience through both qualitative and quantitative data. Week 3: Learnt trade marketing - understanding how we promote the Guardian brand to our valued commercial partners. Week 4: Mastered advertising operations - harnessing online tools to efficiently manage and execute advertising campaigns across the Guardian's digital platforms. Week 5: Shaped strategy - crafting strategic responses to agency and client marketing briefs. Week 6: Creativity on the commercial features desk - brainstorming innovative ideas for active projects. Week 7: Navigated project management - overseeing and monitoring the progress of ongoing projects for the Guardian's commercial partners. Week 8: Returned to the commercial features deck for a second stint because I enjoyed it! I want to thank Brixton Finishing School for this amazing opportunity! And most importantly, I would love to thank Katie Haffner and Radia J. for being great mentors!

Only consumer brands should be on TikTok? Uh uh, no! Business to Business brands can get benefits too. We have great fun with our TikTok brand and it works wonders for our employer and Taurus Academy brand.   It also motivates our team and gets their creative and design-thinking juices buzzing. Taurus Marketing is on TikTok   We want each team member to contribute to the culture, our intern program, and help with our employer brand. So, we use TikTok to show off our strong work culture and encourage our team to make fun and creative content that reflects our Taurus values and community.   Our team members Ritika Thapa and Bella O'Brien created a video during their internship which has boosted our internship program and encouraged a wider audience reach to a recent recruitment campaign online. Sharon Williams encouraged them to experiment with various content formats, trends and challenges. Making TikToks allows the team to embrace creativity and have fun around the beautiful office we work in. The exercise goes beyond fun and has fostered a culture of constant learning and improvement within our workplace.   With a mission to stay on top of emerging trends and with Gen Z and Millennials beginning to dominate the job market, companies can have fun with their recruitment strategies to appeal to a tech-savvy and socially conscious demographic. TikTok is a great way for us to connect with audiences and new talent in an exciting and more personal way unique from other social media platforms.   TikTok’s data reports 8.5 million Australians actively use the app every month making up 40% of the population.
