The right to be protected from known harms to mental health; a universal right which applies to the entire population, but especially the vulnerable including children, minorities and the displaced peoples. 2. The right to access quality and affordable care when a person is struggling with their mental health. 3. The right to freedom and dignity, including the right of choice.

The UK's youth mental health crisis is alarming, with nearly 500k children awaiting treatment and wait times averaging 107 days. Many search and rescue teams are made up of civilian workers who take on the role of a First Responder for their community. When policymakers and clinicians are discussing First Responder populations, it is important to acknowledge the civilian arm of First Responders. Rescue and recovery efforts can expose these volunteers to psychologically traumatizing situations and scenes. A technique like the ASAP that offers silent processing while acknowledging the emotional toll of responder services is one way we’re working to build retention and resilience in our volunteer organizations. Let’s encourage a First Responder culture that helps promote pride in mental health care so we can keep showing up for our community. Today, we celebrate National Child Health Day! As someone who's been on the frontline and behind the scenes in social care, this day resonates with me a lot. From my experience, children's health isn't spoken about enough. 🧒 Did you know that 1 in 5 kids suffer with mental health issues? How can we ensure they get the care they need? 🍏 And with 1 in 5 children facing obesity, what can we do to promote healthier lifestyles? 💔 Nearly 14% of kids live in poverty. How can we strengthen social care systems to support them better? Opening up these conversations and addressing these issues is crucial. Even after working in the social care sector for three years, I was surprised by these shocking statistics. It highlights the urgency of spreading awareness and knowledge about this matter.
