“It’s more than a job. For me, it’s a privilege that young people allow you to be part of that journey with them.” We're giving a shout out to Michelle, a Registered Manager at our Rossorry Grove service in Northern Ireland. Why? Because she's recently been awarded an Employee Excellence award at our Stephenson Awards for her dedicated work in our children's services 👏 Rossorry Grove provides young people with supported accommodation who are homeless or are at risk of homelessness. When the service's contract was due to end, she fought hard for the young people to continue to access this crucial support. She was instrumental in enabling the young people to conduct their own campaign to save the service which involved them engaging with local media, council members and politicians. Her colleagues said that she really went above and beyond. “For me, there’s a real emotional connection to the service as I was there right from the beginning.” Thank you Michelle and the Rossorry Grove team for everything you do for vulnerable young people in Northern Ireland ❤️ Interested in joining the Action for Children family? "Effective community intervention programs have become instrumental in addressing the root causes of delinquency. These initiatives encompass a broad spectrum of strategies, including early intervention, educational support, mentoring, and conflict resolution. The emphasis on rehabilitation over incarceration has shown promising results in reducing repeat offenses and enhancing community safety." https://lnkd.in/g75tjVZy Life Decisions is helping youth get back on track, stay out of trouble and reach healthy adulthood. Wow...things were worse with Tory…I know that…but like. Did the council read OHR Commision Publications and do the opposite??? Oh, yeah. OHRC is too WOKE for those C.'s "The City is committed to engaging the community to support the positive integration of the shelter into the neighbourhood. Community engagement includes ongoing communication and a Community Liaison Committee (CLC) that was established in late 2020. More information about some of the community engagement can be found at the “Virtual Information Session in Sept 2020,”.the CLC provides resident representatives, businesses, and community organizations with an opportunity to be actively involved in identifying concerns and challenges related to the shelter, as well as supporting the successful integration of the shelter into the community. If you live in the Scarborough-Guild wood area and are interested in learning more about upcoming meetings and available opportunities on the committee," Meetings with Community Groups... I have to go through that again? The earlier stuff hasnt even been resolved. I'm still waiting for me FOI. Hey, how about meetings with the homeless and fuck everyone else. It's their lives. Like those meetings should NEVER happen!!! Not according to me..according to the Ontario Human Rights Commission. If it is in a Commission Policy, then it is what the tribunal bases their decisions on. : Section 45.5 of the Code states that the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario (the Tribunal) may consider policies approved by the OHRC in a human rights proceeding before the Tribunal. Where a party or an intervenor in a proceeding requests it, the Tribunal SHALL consider an OHRC policy. How much did the CHRT just validate that Indigenous Children need to be awarded as remedy for the discrimination by the Government in not affording them equal privileges as other Canadians? It's in the $Billions. One more suggestion. Let people other than city hall decide who is on committees as people who aid the COUNCIL in understanding things from a lived experience perspective. Who's the dick tator? Wake The F# Up. This isn't a joke. People are dying. City Hall's Bright Idea of being fair from 2020 and Tory who was not a Torie.

Medicare Health insurance broker for Missouri, Kansas and Ohio. Author of The Book Qadree El-Amin A Man. Behind the scenes manager mogul of the stars dangerous and glamorous life from Newark New Jersey.
Hi Morgan No we are not Proud of Mayor Lucas. Repealing NEW ORDINANCE TO CODE BOOKS ORDINANCE NO. 230401 Amending Chapter 3, Code of Ordinances, by repealing Section 3-431, “Setting Goals for Individual Contracts” and enacting in lieu thereof a new section of like number and subject matter regulating the application of numeric MBE/WBE goals on certain projects leased for development or receiving economic development incentives or tax abatement. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY: 2. Ignoring the letter from The Kcmo Fairness Board Chairman & Fairness Committee regarding Civil Rights violations ? Harrasment of minority contractors ? inadequate reporting from Kcmo CREO department ? No Disparity report for 9 years and more ? 2016 Disparity Report below: Department of I think 1.2 minority [participation] and 2.5 WBE [participation], when there was adequate availability of minority and women contractors to meet the City’s standard kind of goal of 15 [percent] and 7 [percent]. They’re diluting the opportunity for minority and women contractors when it comes through the statutory business development organizations, all of whom have different sets of rules..… There ought to be a uniform code that is incorporated in all the development agreements which people in our community never see.… There’s a disconnect. And I realize they’re trying to change some of that now but the insulting part of it was there was more money spent through statutory agencies last year for contracting activities than there were through City departments.… It’s obviously developer driven. By the time we see it the development agreement has already been executed. Caused lack of capital for Jackson County schools and libraries. Mayor Lucas and Insult to African Americans everywhere?
Grateful to Quinton Lucas for the opportunity to serve my community and for the strong trust we’ve placed in each other since day one. We’ve accomplished a lot the past five years, and I hope we’ve made Kansas City proud. Under the mayor’s leadership, I know our City government will remain bold, caring and creative. How special it’s been to be part of it all. Reid Day, you’re up next! We’re all rooting for you.

(Draft) Inverclyde Community Justice Outcomes Improvement Plan 2024 Last week Inverclyde Community Justice Partnership published its draft Community Justice Outcomes Improvement Plan. This plan initially commenced following publication of the National Strategy for Community Justice in 2022 and developed throughout 2023. The CJOIP has five priority outcomes reflecting the four nationally determined outcomes and a locally determined outcome around housing and homelessness outcomes for those in the justice system. The document outlines progress from the previous CJOIP published in 2015, an analysis of community justice locally and action underway by the Partnership to meet the priority aims. Regarding the priority outcomes a range of proposed actions are included over the next few years. The document has now moved into an engagement phase until mid-March. There is a consultation survey for groups and individuals locally, a planned week of engagement with the third sector, engagement with individuals who have lived/living experience of the justice system and a number of staff engagement sessions from across the Partnership and beyond. The draft CJOIP and consultation survey are available via https://lnkd.in/ep_DHFH9 EDITED COMMENT. The idea of this post is to generate discussion if anyone wants to ask/comment/respond to anything.

Founder l Transforming Workplace Experiences by Centering Employee Success l Fractional Operations | Causer of Good Trouble
Growing up in a community of single mothers, homelessness and chronic housing instability were constants in my life. Though I wasn't a foster child myself, my mother and aunts hailed from foster backgrounds, and so instability was a regular occurrence. Fast forward to 2024, serving and uplifting unhoused youth becomes my mission. The spaces God places me are on purpose, for a purpose. 🙏🏾 Youth homelessness is a super complex issue. Shelters are overcrowded, transitional housing is few, and affordable housing - don’t get me started. According to NCSL: 👉🏾 Each year, 1.5 million children and adolescents flee home due to family conflicts, abuse, or neglect, finding themselves homeless. 👉🏾 Over 250,000 children enter foster care annually, with more than 23,000 aging out each year. These youths face heightened risks of homelessness due to various factors, including unstable placements, histories of running away, and time spent in institutional settings. At Pour Over Love, the youth we serve encounter challenges unique to Atlanta, such as the prevalence of sex trafficking and the increasing presence of gangs and initiations. We're dedicated to empowering our youth through a comprehensive approach: expanding our resources to encompass career development, on-the-job training, mentorship, and networking opportunities, we aim to facilitate successful transitions. Our goal is ambitious yet attainable: within our 12-month cohorts, we strive to secure stable housing and meaningful careers for each individual, setting the stage for sustainable lifestyles. 🤝 Will you help me in transitioning the lives of Atlanta’s at-risk youth? Whatever form your contribution takes (financial, mentorship, reposting), know that it is invaluable to us. Your support enables us to continue our vital work, impacting lives and reshaping futures, and we greatly appreciate your contributions. https://lnkd.in/eSi-eTg4 #nonprofit #supporttheyouth #fundraising #impactdriven #homelessness #careerdevelopment #jobtraining #mentorship #affordablehousing #employment

At a time where connection feels more crucial than ever, I'm excited to share new work from the Ad Council's Belonging Begins With Us campaign in partnership with the American Immigration Council. Our 'shared table' PSA is designed to demonstrate how we can bridge across lines of difference to cultivate stronger, more connected communities Nearly three-quarters of Americans report feeling a lack of belonging in their local communities. This feeling of disconnection not only affects our personal well-being but also impacts workplace productivity and the strength of our democracy. It's clear that fostering a sense of belonging is not just important – it's essential. Our new creative partnership with the Team Up Project, led by founding partners Catholic Charities USA, Habitat for Humanity International, Interfaith America , and YMCA of the USA (National Resource Office), seeks to expand relationship-building activities and encourage connection in local communities through shared action. Belonging truly begins with us, and by coming together, we can create stronger, more inclusive communities where everyone feels valued and connected. https://lnkd.in/dwyYFXim

For those of you who don't know, I have other passions outside of accounting! One of those is Templeogue United. My connection started as an eager 5-year-old who thought he would one day play for Ireland and Manchester United... we all need to dream. I was fortunate enough to be elected as Chair of the Club's Executive Committee in 2021 after being on the committee since 2013. We embarked on an audacious project in late 2020 to complete a full refurbishment of the ground floor of our existing clubhouse and are now just a few months away from completion. This project would not be possible without the help and support of the following: 1. The Volunteers: The many volunteers who keep our club running and provide happiness (and some sadness!) to approximately 600 boys and girls every week. These volunteers often double up as coaches, players, committee members, and fundraisers. 2. The Parents: The parents who make a big effort to get their kids to training, matches, and camps throughout the year. We rely on the yearly subscriptions to support the club's costs, and we wouldn't be able to survive without the timely receipt of these amounts. On this topic, we extend our gratitude to ClubZap, who have transformed the administrative process of registering players. 3. Sponsors and Financial Institutions: Our goal is to provide best-in-class facilities to our members and the wider community. To do this, we rely on the support of many sponsors. From sponsoring new kits to funding trips away, the generosity of certain people knows no bounds. We have too many sponsors to mention, but thank you all! For such a big project like the clubhouse refurbishment, we still needed more, and this is where our partnership with Heritage Credit Union Dublin became a priority. Their help and support have been invaluable. Special thanks to Alan Roche and Niall Manning QFA PB. We share a common goal, community engagement! 4. Grant support: We received a grant through the Sports Capital Programme, which would not have been possible without the support of the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, the Football Association of Ireland, South Dublin County Council, and the various TDs and councillors who supported our application. Finally, it would be remiss of me not to include a plug for a major fundraiser that we are running to assist with the cost of delivering this project. We will run a raffle with over €60k in prizes, with the 1st prize being a new Ford Puma. Please buy a ticket and support this project 🙏 Link to our website - https://lnkd.in/eMxBQGVa #templeogueunited #CommunityDevelopment #volunteers #grassrootsfootball #fai #sdcc The National Lottery Party City Stuart Fagan Chris Pratt Andy McNulty Keith McDonald
