I love cars, but satellites, drones, weapons, aircraft, submarines etc. are so impressive from an engineering, software, and manufacturing standpoint. The American Aerospace & Defense industry is facing many of the same challenges that we discussed at the SAE International GLC and PEI Operating Partners Forum in NYC. In areas of supply chain, manufacturing and quality, key priorities highlighted at the Generis A&D Summit included: - Talent attraction: connecting the newer generation to the greater mission of the industry & the new technology being developed - Risk mitigation and Geopolitics - Cyber security: raising awareness and enabling improved defense communications, ensuring lower-level tiered suppliers are protected, not just the large OEMs and Tier 1s - Optimizing cost: moving from hardware-intensive to software-driven excellence - Increased near shoring: managing the resulting growing pains (~50% more defects are coming at the Tier 1 level as a result of nearshoring) - Manufacturing excellence: going back to basics for efficiency, while managing digital transformation (re-thinking how to manufacture to take advantage of AI and ML advancements) - Decarbonization: pushing for zero-emission organizations + so much more… Really great aerospace & defense leaders sharing their passion about these topics in an engaging way. Greg Maxwell Adaora Nelson, Ph.D Jess Salzbrun We look forward to drawing parallels between industries on Thursdays webinar where the Seraph. team will present our Q3 Automotive Industry Report. https://lnkd.in/gX7bS7uJ Thank you Leslie Bednarz & Genaro Pineda!
