Was looking for additional sdr capacity at one of the two co’s… found 3 top suppliers. Really the best in the Belgian Business (2) and another Dutch party, also recommended by a friend with a 10 mio ARR co. We explore and make a choice. One already worked for an investor of ours and as a result, also offers 30 procent discount. Cutting heavily under the other’s two prices. Good flow, good story, nice guy. So both the CEO and me agree, we need to do this. Now… I always have the courtesy to do a call to the other suppliers who quoted. I know how it is and feels, it’s just a basic sign of respect. Letting reps who work on your deal know it’s a no. The Dutch party I had emailed, and the party replied warmly, tried to sell something else. Took it like a champ. We’ll consider them again when we’ll target the Dutch market The other of the top Belgian lead gen party, I had called. They responded: - Angry for having lost the deal prior to being able to draft a good proposal - Frustrated for not having had the full opportunity to pitch with a follow up meeting and a concrete proposal. - Made me feel guilty whilst doing the right thing - Gave me a quote to justify the behavior about “loyalty to his customers” when I mentioned it What I do when customers say no: - Always make em feel they are always, always welcome in the future. Leave the door open. - Don’t take it out on a customer who has the respect to tell you no and why it’s a know. - Don’t guilt trip customers, it’s unprofessional. - When customers point out they feel a certain way, don’t justify your behavior. Apologise and correct, if you care about customer centricity and offering a buyer centric buyer experience, also when you hear a no (maybe even more so).

Is there anything worse (in terms of partner sourcing) than filling out a webform with your information, only to be asked to then schedule a meeting with that potential partner's SDR according to what works best for them, and then having to re-enter the same information again? It should be: 1. Fill out form, including how you prefer to be contacted (or if you want to pick a time for a call) 2. Convert to calendar if 'pick time' is chosen; contact info is carried through and prefilled, only needing your confirmation 3. If other method is preferred, convert to 'thank you' page confirming that the partner will fulfill the requested contact type. I've never seen a seamless integration into Calendly from a webform - has anyone accomplished this?

Founder @Traction | We build outbound machines for PLG SaaS tools and Professional Service Organisations with BIG TAMS
Our client JUST improved conversion rates by 20% on high-ticket deals. It's really damn simple too. We were driving leads into their inbox with the purpose of booking meetings. We would book around 10-20 per month pretty regularly but we weren't closing. We weren't happy and wanted to understand WHY. I mean, if our leads aren't making them $$$ what is the point in paying us? We got thinking... Internally our close rates have shot up, I found that the reason for this was content. Prior to booking a meeting, on average each prospect will watch at least 3/4 pieces of our content. So, we built some new SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for them. We discovered that prospects were too cold coming into meetings, and in full honesty, they weren't ready. So we decided to package a high-value free offering to allow them to engage with us, build up trust and then book a meeting. We ended up getting less meetings, but the ones that did come into calls closed pretty quickly and easily. What did I learn? People buy from people. Your product might be AMAZING, but sometimes the prospect needs to build trust. For high-ticket deals, you might want to shift your funnel from sales-led to value-led. Think the higher the deal, the more value-bursts that might be needed. Use cold email to drive prospects into your value circle.

I got 4 inbound leads from 1 post. Steal my template👇 Hook - (The 1st 2 lines) - 1 line to set the timeframe - 1 line to state the results Body - I gave away the strategy - I made the info applicable to anyone - Bullet points made it easy to digest - I didn't gatekeep info Takeaway - I reiterated the results and timeframe - I used a call to action for people to DM That's how I generated 4 leads in 1 post. PRO TIP: Use a case study with fast results. People love speed.

Another great convo today with Matt Nettleton as we take a deeper dive into collaboration between sales and marketing and the direct impact on inbound leads. (BTW, a solution for diminished conversion rates is NOT 1) spend more money or 2) create a new flyer, website page, or lead magnet)

🛑 Stop using open rates as a metric. 🛑 I get it. It’s hard to let go. But open rates are not accurate and are not reliable. 🙈 If you want to know what’s working: ✅Focus on reply rates ✅Look at negative vs positive replies ✅A/B test your subject lines and CTAs Please stop tracking (or using) open rates as a success metric. 🫣 #coldemail #outboundsales #prospecting _____________________ 📩 Learn how to write emails that actually get replies: https://lnkd.in/g9HH3F7Z 🚨Follow The Ruevy Project to level up your outbound game 🚀
