It's a real shame when business is regularly conducted via #patents and #lawsuits, while taking advantage of #publicfunding for research. Which is common practice in #LifeSciences. Instead of focusing on #research and go to market to help patients and save lives, a lot of money and effort goes to... lawyers and consultants to enlarge the pockets of stockholders. We need a reset. [Note: I know both Prof. G. Church and Prof. D. Weitz, who is not even mentioned in the article but is closely related to the 10x patent. Cases like this are usually a lot more nuanced and complex than a single article can cover, even from the excellent The Harvard Crimson. Let's hope the courts clear the facts]
