Come visit us Sept. 27-29 at MWC Las Vegas, Las Vegas Convention Center, West Hall. This year the main topics of the show include 5G Acceleration and the Age of AI, two themes which are central to Parallel Wireless’ 2023 latest line of products. * ALLG solutions that give operators the flexibility they need to introduce innovation while maintaining consistency across their mixed 2G/3G/4G and 5G networks. This enables operators to deploy 5G without worrying about breaking compatibility or duplicating resources. * Network management components that support RAN Centralization which make excellent use of AI models to optimize cluster resources across hundreds of sites. * Power-saving software that uses machine learning to optimize power-consumption in cell sites as well as across clusters of sites, by controlling transmission power and selectively by powering up and powering down components based on traffic and demand. As operators move forward with 5G, making the right investment that will lower the initial and overall costs will be crucial to generate a reasonable ROI. Come by Booth #828 in Hall W1 to learn more. #mwclasvegas #5g #mobilenetworks #openran

6G network: Closer than you think! 🌐 The evolution from 5G to 6G is underway, with exciting developments on the horizon! By 2025, the first 6G specifications will start taking shape, setting the stage for a new era of connectivity. 6G aims to seamlessly integrate wireline and mobile industries for more efficient, simplified networks. Currently, 5G Advanced offers improvements in positioning and coverage, AI/ML-based optimization for the air interface/Next Generation Radio Access Network (NG-RAN), and Flexible Duplex to reduce uplink latency in Time Division Duplexing (TDD). It also focuses on Network Energy Savings (NES). In 6G, we can expect advanced capabilities in sustainability, coverage, pervasive AI, interoperability, and positioning. As you'll learn in this article, the exact schedule for Release 21 is still being planned. However, 3GPP aims to hold a 6G workshop in March 2025, with the goal of approving the first 6G study package by June 2025. This year, 3GPP will start discussing 6G service requirements. What advancements are you most excited about with the advent of 6G? #6G #TechInnovation #FutureConnectivity

See what Al Beydoun, Ph.D. has to say about 5G and pervasive connectivity in the "Industrial networks playing key role in digital transformation" article in Industrial Ethernet Book written by Al Presher. “...pervasive connectivity is positioned to transform industrial automation in 2024 and beyond. The combination of new technologies including Single Pair Ethernet (SPE), wireless 5G, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) will enable more devices than ever before to be connected to the network while also allowing for continuous feedback loop optimization based on real world input being fed into data models and back onto the production floor." Interested in radio, access, transport, and core and enterprise network along with value added services. Learning High Level System Design.
Again these concepts are very relevant. Initial I heard about the TMForum APIs about intent based networking from the knowledge plane where the higher level intents are created and converted to the core, transport and RAN network lower level intents. The post talks about the RAN part of the end-to-end. I found the relevance also in Nephio project and sharing the links https://lnkd.in/dngz2pe3 https://lnkd.in/d65crF2G https://lnkd.in/dSjP9r-P Just wondering that how IPUs (Not CPUs, GPUs/TPUs or DPU) are taking care of these things (not for RAN). https://lnkd.in/dsRnpzGx https://lnkd.in/dWPiQPhu

🤖 In Release 18, Major Vendors are taking 🧠 AI/ML to the next level for RAN enhancements! 🌟 AI-driven network energy savings, load balancing, and mobility optimization are now a reality! 📡 These advancements are backed by signaling enhancements in current NR interfaces, like the UE to gNB radio interface and the inter-gNB Xn interface. This will deliver outstanding performance through AI/ML functionality in the RAN. 📈🤖 By tailoring the AI model to vendor-specific needs, we're promoting innovation and competitiveness. Release 19 is in the works! OEMs are adding more use cases and fixing loose ends from Release 18. One exciting potential addition: AI-assisted dynamic cell shaping demonstrated by Ericsson.5GS is entirely on board, supporting AI/ML-powered functionality with an intent-based management approach. The RAN listens to intent signals from OAM and takes action to fulfill the configured intent. 8moHi my friend, unfortunately I will miss your talk but we need to catch up later. I am curious to understand the notion of xApps for network management as I thought rApps will do the management tasks, while xApps do control. 😜 But in a world of omnipresent AI the lines between control and management might blurr and I guess this might not matter anymore. CU later my friend in the southern hemisphere 😉
