WHAT IS THE DEMO EVENT?The entertainment industry is transitioning to clean zero-emissions power for film and TV productions and many new technologies are available. Los Angeles Cleantech Demo Days is a 2-day event where entertainment professionals can see a wide variety of new fuel-reducing technology up close, speak with the suppliers and learn more about how cleantech can be used on production from their peers. There will be cleantech tours, peer to peer Q&A, complimentary food, and raffle prizes. Featured technology will include batteries, hydrogen power units, electric vehicles and mobile charging, and solar powered off grid trailers.      WHY NOW?The future is here. Cleantech is coming to your next projects’ sets and basecamps. This demo will give crew a chance to kick the tires and get firsthand knowledge from fellow crew and department members about their cleantech experiences on set, at basecamp, and at the shop. Attendees will be able to ask questions of vendors and peers, understand best use cases, and discuss how best to integrate the technology into upcoming shows. We are constantly trying to make a meaningful impact on sustainability by making small and simple changes. -Right now we are swapping out the traditional fluorescent tubes for more energy-efficient LED lighting. Says Peter Andersson, Industrial Engineer Manager at Starsprings Sweden. -Along with sensors to turn on the lights only when needed, LED lights outshine fluorescents in energy efficiency, cutting down electricity bills and reducing our carbon footprint. With a lifespan three times longer than fluorescent tubes, LEDs minimize replacements and electronic waste, promoting a circular and sustainable approach to lighting. In some cases we can even re build the existing fixtures from old tech to new LED. Thats awesome not only to save the plane but at the same time save the company wallet as well.
