Mark Yusko in this clip is showcasing he ALMOST "gets it." In late 2023 #blockchain, #tokenization, and #crypto are leftover ill-conceived ideas or are SCAMS by those who understand why they are so! Granted, from 2012 to 2018 there was some HONEST experimentation and excitement to see if somehow the discovery of Bitcoin (Cap B - the protocol) and #bitcoin (lowercase b - the asset) could have other use cases with other BASE LAYER, so-called, blockchains. Honest experimenters who took the time to go down the BITCOIN RABBIT HOLE have concluded there are NO OTHER base layer use cases for blockchain and thus abandoned those experiments and are now building on Bitcoin Layer 2, 3, ... N!  This is what honest and knowledgeable blockchain experiments now know to be true: A blockchain protocol will be sustainable over time if and only if it has a native and unchangeable ASSET where the protocol itself is the absolute arbiter of truth! For everything else, there’s AWS. This DOES NOT mean that digital assets CAN'T or DON'T have value, value is in the eye of the beholder, we know that, but what is escaping even intelligent folks like YUSKO is that if it has value, that value over time will be represented by the ONLY ASSET in the only LEDGER that is FREE from human manipulation, bitcoin, and Bitcoin. You might be quick to say, look you are wrong, there are thousands of crypto projects today, aloft! True, that's undisputable, but I remind you that any crypto project can be made 'to fly' over a short amount of time. The Spruce Goose is to aviation what blockchain, tokenization, and crypto are to the BITCOIN asset class, an asset class of one. Digital files, digital photos, digital contracts, digital representations of fractional ownership contracts, digital art, digital you name it are NOT an ASSET CLASS, they are just digital files. In a nutshell, tokenized XYZ items priced in their own printed out-of-thin-air token, are 99% about the token, and 1% about the underlying asset. Whereas, the same 'tokenized XYZ' item priced in #bitcoin is 100% about the underlying asset. A key takeaway is, that a digitized asset DOES NOT NEED a proprietary blockchain and it certainly does not need a proprietary token to gain market appeal. DO NOT CONFUSE TOKENIZATION WITH DIGITIZATION. Tokenization is about printing money tokens, whereas with digitization the value of the asset is NOT dependent on the asset issuers having money printers. A final point on this post: #bitcoin over time will STRIP AWAY the 'moneyness' of digital assets to their essence, the asset itself, rendering most tokens worthless as one by one will cease to circulate. _
