why I chose not to pursue a career in journalism? 🙄 After much contemplation, I wanted to share why I chose not to pursue a career in journalism, despite my initial passion for storytelling and uncovering truths. Here are some of the pivotal reasons: Endless Ambiguity: Journalism often felt like a maze without an exit. While the pursuit of truth is noble, the landscape seemed to lack conclusive points, leaving me questioning if the path I was on was truly leading anywhere. Erosion of Ethics: The erosion of ethical standards in journalism deeply troubled me. It became apparent that ideologies and financial interests often overshadowed the fundamental principles of truth and integrity, leaving me disheartened by the state of the industry. Disparity in Compensation: Witnessing the stark contrast between underpaid young journalists and overcompensated veterans was disconcerting. While experience merits recognition, the notion that fair compensation only arrives after a certain age seems unjust and unsustainable. Ethical Void: The absence of robust ethical guidelines and enforcement mechanisms further fueled my disillusionment. टिम्बर कथा: "पेटीएम पर चौदह रुपये प्राप्त हुए" की आवाज़ सुनते ही चाचा मुझे एक चाय की टोकन और एक पारले-जी बिस्किट दे देते हैं। टोकन लेने के लिए अक्सर काउंटर पर मोहन भैया या अज़हर भाई मौजूद रहते हैं। चाय लेते ही बेंच पर बैठ कर खाते हुए हम पूरे दिन की रूटीन तय करते हैं। "टिम्बर हट" नाम की चाय दुकान से भोपाल के लोग भली-भाँति वाकिफ़ हैं। ख़ास-तौर पर 'माखनलाल चतुर्वेदी यूनिवर्सिटी' के भोपाल कैम्प्स के हर विद्यार्थी ने यहां की चाय ज़रूर पी होगी। इसी दुकान के हॉस्टल में मैनें छः महीने बिताएँ हैं। तमाम शरारतों को नज़रंदाज़ करते हुए दुकान के मालिक 'मंसूर चाचा' ने मुझे बहुत दुलार दिया है। अगर पराए शहर में पहला कोई अपना लगा था तो मंसूर चाचा। शुरुआत के वक़्त से यहां की चाय पी और इस से अच्छी चाय मैनें भोपाल में कहीं नहीं पी। टिम्बर अपने आप में एक दुनिया है।इस दुनिया के अलग-अलग लोग हैं। यहां कोई किसी से मेल खाता हुआ नहीं मिलेगा। यहां की ख़ास बातों में शुमार है यहां से बनते रिश्ते। कब आप एक चाय पीने निकलो, और 9 रुपये बढ़ते-बढ़ते 90 हो जाएं कुछ मालूम नहीं। पर यहां रुपयों का मोह नहीं लगता। कभी आपने पिलाई,कभी किसी ने आपको पिलाई। ना चाय बननी नहीं रुकती है, ना गिलास ख़ाली होते हैं। ये अनवरत चलते रहने वाले क्रिया में कुल मिलाकर हमेशा 7-8 लोग रहते हैं। सुबह 7 बजे से लेकर रात के 11 बजे तक चाय का सिलसिला ज़ारी रहता है। टिम्बर हट मेरा घर है भोपाल में। "आकाश कहीं नहीं मिला तो टिम्बर मिलेगा।" आप कभी भोपाल पधारें तो बताएं ज़रूर, टिम्बर की चाय हमारे तरफ़ से।
